Nice list from you! Very smart share. Anyway, I also have a pen and notebook with me. I feel so free on writing on my notebook as I plan things.

If you can manage it, I'd say two monitors. You will be amazed how your productivity goes up with two of them, and once you've used them for a while you will never want to go back to a single screen.

It's definitely in the category of "never going back". I got a second monitor for photography, but it's so much more efficient to do everything.

Looks like the others have covered pretty much everything. The only thing I'd add is to have a plan. Always important to set out goals (daily, weekly, monthly, whatever) so you continue making progress

    1. A laptop would be nice. I built an ueber-powerful desktop a few years ago. It's overkill for what I do for IM, but there's no such thing as too powerful.
    2. (Or any arbitrary device.) Nice, but not essential.
    3. A mic is nice.
    4. Nah, I have a 22 and 17.
    5. Or any arbitrary smartphone.
    6. 3 TB? I'm a photographer and can see the purpose of huge storage devices, but for IM?
    7. Tis nice.
    8. Great idea.
    9. Tis nice.
    10. Word '07 Pro and CS4 Master Collection

Unfortunitely I would not be able to have a mobile office with a iMac. One of my major goals is to never be confined to any location and just to travel and work while on vacation most of the time thus I must have a more portable option hence my need for laptop device.

I definitely agree that a dual monitor is extremely helpful especially when writing articles, designing sites, and doing research. For a 100 dollar investment, you can't go wrong.

+1 for the dual monitor but on a PC.

My two investments of 2012 so far have been my extra monitor and my whiteboard for some crazy mindmaps.

        3. No CUPS allowed. Everyone knows IMers drink straight from the pot!
        2. Table is for sitting pot on. (along with backup pot - have to backup everything!)

Without coffee, I CAN'T SEE the computer!

        So:
        1. Table
        2. Coffee Pot
        3. Backup coffee pot!
        4. Everything else is, well, relevant to situation at hand.

I completely agree with others about dual monitor. It boost your productvity, once you try you cannot go back.
I also agree with the pen/paper approach when you want to jot down quickly some ideas.
I use and recommend Treepad Lite; I use it to keep the information of the products I promote more structured.

I totally agree with the dual monitor approach. I just upgraded and it's done wonders for my productivity. If you can't stretch for it - at least make sure you're using a widescreen monitor!

Despite all that tech - like others have said, I'm still very much dependent on my old pen and paper!

These two from your opening post would be a bit of a problem then:

      4. 20' Inch LCD External Monitor

      8. Dry Erase Board
      Just my thoughts,

You should have a product that sells. If you are marketing a less known product then you should be able to convince your customers that it is equal or better that other products.

Great list. I would say that there are really only 2 essential things you need to get started in Internet Marketing and those would be a brain (with ideas of course) and a computer or access to one.
The other things are nice to have but deffo not essential
