Need your help- no ideas at all (wordpress plugin)

Hi,

I would like to create a membership site with long form registration. But I really don't know what plugin or theme I should use. Can anyone suggest some to have a look at it?

    Wishlist member is top notch. I'd go with that.

    And optimize press.

    Or a custom theme. Those are usually the best.

    As a plugin i would suggest pie register, i think it has that option for membership sites.

      I think he's looking for something more along the lines of a monetized plugin with payment integration.

        Hi Cataclysm,

        Sorry for my poor description, in fact, I would like to create a site similar to job seeking website.

        I would like the user to register in a long form (Create the database for sell or promote other product later on), and then after completing the form, it become a member of my site.

        Is that more clear? Any suggestions?

    Why does it have to be a membership site? Are you going to provide ongoing membership-style content and interaction?

    If not, surely this can be done with an autoresponder script? Just create your form and then segment/filter your database whenever you want to send a promo to people who:

    * live in Jardine's Lookout
    * like jazz music
    * eat out more than three times per week

    etc.

    All based on the questions from your opt-in form.

    Wouldn't this be simpler? You just need a good autoresponder script/service that allows you to slice and dice data in this way.

    If you do need a membership script, then do your research to find out which ones have fully-customisable sign-up forms.

    Depending on the functionality you're planning for your site, you might expand your search beyond the typical "internet marketing" membership site scripts to look at more "social network" sites such as Dolphin or PHPfox and things like that.

    Possibly even scripts that are aimed at "dating sites", which allow people to select a lot of criteria when creating their profile. In this case, make sure you research it carefully to see if you can filter your database based on those criteria and then email those people using a built-in SMTP mail function (or seamlessly integrate with an autoresponder service).

    And make sure your Terms & Conditions make it very clear that people will receive correspondence including product offers from you from time to time.

    And that there's a way for them to opt out of that correspondence.
