Are they different from offline business models?

      1. Sell a product or service

      2. Promote someone else's product or service

      3. Sell advertising space

      Take your pick!

If I may piggyback on Neil's 3 basic ways to earn income with the names of online business models that relate to each.

        1. Sell a product or service

        * Info-Product Model: Sell your own product or service.

        2. Promote someone else's product or service for a commission:

        * Affiliate Model:

        * CPA Model: Get your prospects to signup for free offers, give up their name/email etc. for a commission.

( no one has to purchase anything and you still get paid )

        3. Sell advertising space

        * Adsense Model: Folks come to your pages and then click on those ads by gooooogle.

( no one has to purchase anything and you still get paid )

        * Many other ways to sell the "space" on your site or blog.

        Tip:

These are the best and most doable options for newbies, lurkers and non earners. (save info-product model)

All are quite simple to conduct as long as you can slap up a page of some sort.

If you don't have one now, you can eliminate lots of confusion and info-overload by researching and then obtaining a online business model. ( and then getting busy )

As far as I'm concerned it all starts there.

        TL

Ps. Don't want to do typical online business tasks like researching niches, finding or creating products, slapping up pages, driving traffic etc.

        Look into being domain investor:

        - All you do is buy/create domain names and then resell them for more than you brought them. It's a lot like real estate. Start up is very inexpensive.

PPC is not an online business model.

It is simply a method of traffic generation that goes along with a model.

An online business model is how you expect to actually get the money you seek.

For example with the affiliate model you must make a sale and then you get paid:

With info-product model you would expect to make money when you sell your own product with the key being the product is sold through your site, you collect payments and deliver the product to the customer.

With the CPA & Adsense type of models you can make money without anyone actually buying anything.

Now, if you like, you can conduct the affiliate model or any other model and use PPC to get visitors to your offers, but PPC is not an online business model IMHO.

        Hope This Helps!!

There are many things with your offer here I already wish to focus my lead generation from ppc any thing that you offer that I better take a 2nd look at that will be helpful to me even if not so interested in other forms of traffic initially, there is so much stuff being thrown my way jusy wish to make certain I am not missing anything that you are offering that I should be looking at again and reviewing the benefits of your product over others that are offering me things as

Does this come with plr rights or anything. I am trying to build quality info products that i can resell until i can create my own in the IM niche, although I will be going after niches non related as well seeking out those that convert then do scaling.

If you're talking about the product in my sig file, it does not come with rights of any kind and teaches the niche affiliate model.

Looks like you need to decide on an online business model just to make things a lot clearer for yourself.

And it looks like you want to investigate the info-product/PLR model where you purchase a product and make it your own in the how to make money/IM niche.

Adwords is just using Google's PPC engine to drive traffic and I don't recommend it for newbies since in most niches the cost per click is way to high when compared to the 2nd tier PPC engines.

PPC ain't the be all to end all and PPC with IM products doesn't work all that well because of the cost and many of your clicks will be competitors being curious and also trying to waste your clicks and drive you out of the market.

Thanks liberator....I know I am still trying to put things together and trying to minimize my risks and money losses as I am prepared to lose money before I make money and that is ok, what is not ok is for me to make quick unsound decisions based on emotions and not on well calculated decisions to minimize my losses in ppc marketing and internet marketing in general.

Yes I still have to make decisions just as you had to do and already been there and done that, it is my turn now to go through your growing pains.

Thanks though for your link, I have seen some interesting there and will review it again as it appears to have some stuff in there that seems worth while reviewing again.

Great thread here gang - but I think we're talking about strategies as opposed to models. And maybe that's what onpointinfo is actually looking for.

For me, I like to have a system in behind my strategies (ie, a business model) that I can use to maximize my profitability regardless of which strategy I use.

Generally, I like to make sure there's an element to capture a customer's information (so I can continue to market to them), and I like to give them an opportunity to immediately purchase something from me, as well has having something(s) "up my sleeve" that I can use to market to them on an ongoing basis.

That's the fundamental foundation of the business model I use - and then I employ the various strategies in it: ppc, affiliate, etc.

Hope that helps - let me know if you need any clarification (it has the potential to be a HUGE answer to a seemingly innocent question :-) )

    - Glen.

Well for me Glen, a online business model is how you expect to extract income ( the actual trigger such a from a sale, commission, action )

from your prospects but you are right because it could also mean how you initially interact with your prospects such as your list building model.

Where your main concern is getting that opt-in and then you'll have multiple ways to get paid from your list.

When you talk about a system, now I think of...

    - Online Business Model +
    - Methods of traffic generation

to create a full blown system.

It could be a matter of definition but I do not agree that marketing strategies like PPC are online business models but they can be a part of an online business model.

By the way, Glen's book on list building ( lucrative List Building ) set me on my way as far as list building is concerned.

    Thanks Glen!

    1)The Ecommerce Model
Revenue is generated by selling goods or services over the Internet. Examples of goods and services include products such as ebooks or candles and service such as consulting or virtual assistance. Selling products from affiliate programs would also be considered ecommerce. This is not an exhaustive list but it should give you an idea of what ecommerce is.
    2) Content-Rich Model
Revenue is generated by selling advertising on your site or in your ezine. Lots of quality content is provided to visitors/subscribers to attract them and to keep them returning to your site or subscribed to your ezine.
The more visitors/subscribers your site or ezine has the more you can charge for advertising. Generally, advertisers pay a certain dollar amount per thousand visitors/subscribers.
    3) Membership/Subscription Model
Revenue is generated by charging subscribers for access to your site or certain parts of your site. This model can also be used with ezines. You can charge subscribers to receive your ezine or generate a premium version of your ezine and charge a fee.

        visitingsingapore...

Not sure how you arrived at the stats that most biz models start with memberships, where did you get statistics for this and no this is not the only online bizmodel read the thread as liberator has said, I purchased his product the other day very inexpensive but seems to be packed with some good information for a beginner as you and me.

I am a beginner as well but came in already with some basic knowledge in net marketing due to me learning how to generate leads online for my offline business, so liberators product for new affiliates is a great value for the price that is my own opinion...;>)

Here is another online business model:
