getting the right niches

Hey guys been looking for some niches and educating myself along the way. I was hoping for you niche gurus to tell me if this is something worth going for

I found a pretty good niche that gets 8k searches each month, and with low competition.(basically forums and yahoo answers ranking 1st page)A good domain name is also available I can perhaps do a review site of the best items and stuff. I plan to use amazon affiliate program to get commissions from it

    Hi

Here are some tips to see if your keyword/niche is worth chasing:

    1. Go to Google and enter the keyword. Do you see lots of paid AdWords at the top and side? Then businesses are paying to have their ads shown for that keyword. They wouldn't do that if it wasn't worth it so this usually indicates a keyword with some value.

    2. Are there a variety of other keywords and longtails in the niche? Sometimes you find a good keyword, but it doesn't lend itself to many alternate searches. Your total search volume is limited by the sum of all relevant keywords. You want a keyword that it the tip of an iceberg.

    3. Besides products, are there books, magazines and forums in the niche? That indicates people are marketing to the niche.

    4. If you are planning an Amazon site, are the products something people buy online? Or are the products something that most people buy in a store?

Dan Brock wrote a great thread here with excellent tips for Amazon success:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...print-you.html

It was posted 2 years ago but still holds its value and gives really specific advise. Dan Brock has gone on to develop a number of other Amazon affiliate marketing products and tools.

Pay attention to what he says about choosing products and niches.

    5. Domain name - Don't use trademarked names in your domain. If your keyword is "sony tv", you can't use sonytvreview.com.

Hard to give more specific advice without knowing the niche, but better not to divulge that information.

evergreen markets such as web services, sports gambling, poker, dating, weight loss, green energy, pets.

I stick to the web services and micro financials. In binary options, one referral that makes a deposit is worth $200. There are different programs, some that offer lifetime residuals and percentages on affiliates you recruit.

It's much easier when YOU chose the market you want to be involved in because it allows you to write much more proficiently which aids in setting up and backlinking your websites.

good luck with your new venture.

I enjoy working with evergreen niches and also very specific niches. If you have a plan for the niche and the site you are trying to build it's always a great idea. Even if you don't make a large amount of money from the website it self you can easily sale it on flippa.com after it's aged. Best of luck!
