Open-source HTML Editor for Windows?

INTERNET MARKETING

I am looking to create a landing page with HTML.

I love dreamweaver but unfortunately my trial has expired and I don't want to buy it because its costly and I am not going to use it much.

Any free equivalent to DW for Windows?

Kompozer is an open source HMTL editor for Windows
and you can get it for free from here:

KompoZer - Easy web authoring (no affil.)

I use Dreamweaver for my client sites but sometimes
refer them on to Kompozer (formerly NVU) so that they
can easily edit their own pages.

As above I would recommend either Kompozer or NVU they are both very similar and pretty straight forward to use

I have been using Coffee Cup, which is free for the basic version.

But for my last site I went back to using Komposer, also free, and I found it to be very good.

You can view and edit in WYSIWYG mode, or by source code, or by HTML tages, and in preview mode.

It's all you need really.

I'm not a big fan of Kompozer. It will screw around with your code sometimes... especially if you ever do any php coding.

The best thing to do is to get familiar with writing code so you can create your pages in a text program such as Notepad++ Home

That's the best way to do it.

  You must try Sublime text 2, Its not an IDE but it is very cool.
  Its somewhat like Notepad++ and Textpad

Check out Kompozer - it might be what you're looking for - its been ages since I've used Dreamweaver so not exactly sure of its features anymore...

  Try BlueGriffon (Newer version of Kompozer/Nvu). I use it to create my sites. It is a great alternative to Dreamweaver. It has plenty of add-ons.

  As mentioned above, Notepad++ is great. Even after getting Dreamweaver years ago, I often found myself using Notepad++ instead.

  Komodoedit is not bad either. I have version 6 but they have version 7 for download. It is free and open source.

Another text-based editor that I like to use and haven't seen mentioned yet is Notepad2.

It's been mentioned several of times, but I have to cast my vote for it too. If you don't need a WYSIWYG editor then try notepad++. It is simple and lightweight. Install it on you flash drive and you can take it with you anywhere! Combine that with a portable FTP program and you can edit sites on the go.
