What do You Guys Think About This Keyword?

I have found a keyword for a site that I am thinking about making. I have a flooring business and I want to do a site on flooring so I was doing some keyword research and found a keyword that looks pretty good.

I would like to run the numbers by you and see what you think. When I put the keyword in the google keyword tool on broad match the results are 74,000 searches.

Then I go to google and put the kewword in quotes and the results only come back with 11,900

I think these are good number but the concern that I have is that the keyword is "how to ceramic tile a floor" This is not a buyers keyword. do you think this matters?

The goal of this site would probably be adsense and maybe to sell ceramic tile through an affiliate link and maybe some other monitization models that I have not thought of yet.

Please let me know your thought please. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks to everyone.

If they are trying to learn how to ceramic tile a floor, as the keyword suggests, then they're going to need to buy supplies to do the job right? Be that guy.

Yes its a keyword that might make some sales but its not worth ranking for as a main keyword with that low of a search count. It could be decent for a long tail keyword for one of your inner pages.

Here's a blog post I made about keyword research if you want to take a gander:

That keyword only receives 91 exact searches a month, and the OCI (online commercial intent) is extremely low. Not a good pick. Don't want to self promote really as I hate doing it but I offer a Fiverr gig specifically for things like this http://fiverr.com/maxasher/perform-k...r-your-website with 37 positive reviews and 0 negative. (delete this link mod if this is not allowed)

    Well there's no competition...

That's because this keyword only gets about 75 searches a month

    I'd stay away from it

IMHO. I would never expose a potential keyword I was seriously considering using to The Warrior Forum. Your audience here can give you great advice, but it also contains many of the best IM marketers around. Dude, we're you competition.

You received responses because the kw did not have much potential. If your kw had been worth a dang, we all would have had up SEO optimized sites within 48 hrs and ruined your earning potential.

In the future, consider just giving the kw's stats - i.e. SV, OCI, # of competing sites, CPC, avverage PR of top 10 sites on Google, etc. That should be ample info for you to receive good advice.

What you did was reveal your hand in the middle of the poker game to a group of card sharks. ;-)

P.S. - There are more keyword research courses for sale on Warrior Forum than I have time to count. You may want to invest in a good one. It will give you a heads up on finding kws with good earning potential. BTW, best of luck with your site, dude.

This. You reallllly don't want to be advertising your niches or potential niche/keywords to the worlds largest Internet marketing forum..., luckily it wasn't anything huge or worth anyone's time, unless you put it to use as a long tail inner page within a website.

In all honesty I opened up this thread looking to see if there was a keyword worth using myself.

You might want to put that back into the keyword tool and see how many "exact" searches it gets. This will be the more likely number it will get. Then you have to realize that even in the number one spot you more than likely won't even get half the traffic for that keyword. This will probably be a pretty easy keyword to rank, but in my honest opinion it wouldn't be worth the time or domain.
