How do you make the copyright symbol?

INTERNET MARKETING

Can someone answer this question for me? I am trying to figure out how to make the copyright symbol.

One guide that I have said to hit "CTRL" 0169 but that didn't work.

It may be a minor thing however, products look a lot more professional with it than without.

I was advised to use professional graphics instead of making my own for the same reason. It's all about looking professional.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you can also use © as a code and that will appear as the symbol.

  and if you are not familiar with code..
  
  you can simply type Copyright symbol into google
  and then Copy and paste the symbol.
  
  (not sure if that is a copyright infringement thought.....)

When designing and building websites I always use the HTML special character code. Which is. &# 169; (Without the space in the middle.)

I tried holding alt while typing 0169 and I tried just hitting alt first then 0169 couldn't get the copyright symbol tried it on notepad.

Is it me? Vista? I can't figure it out.

I believe the confusion in your mind started with not so much the actual character code, but rather the function key you depress and hold while typing the character code '0169'.

When it comes to implementing these character functions, CTRL is used if you're on a Mac whereas ALT is used if you're on a PC.

That's odd.

Are you pressing down the ALT key and HOLDING IT DOWN while you type 0169 on your keypad and THEN RELEASING the ALT key?

Go to your computer's accessories > system tools > character map and copy
and paste it into your document.

Look at Ascii Table - ASCII character codes and html, octal, hex and decimal chart conversion and scroll down the page.

These are the symbols you can create using the ALT-### example discussed above.

I think you should put that into google and it should be on of your first search results...

All you have to do from there is copy and paste...

Make sure you use your numeric keypad, not the numbers below your 'F' keys when typing ALT (0169).

How to create the copyright symbol (and R for registered symbol)for the MAC and PC

1. Create the TM trademark symbols ™ using Option-2 on the Mac.

2. Under Windows, create TM trademark symbols ™ using ALT 0153 (hold down the ALT key and type 0153 on the numeric keypad).

3. Create the circled C copyright symbols © using Option-G on the Mac. Under Windows, create circled C copyright symbols © using ALT 0169.

4. Create the circled R registered trademark symbols ® using Option-R on the Mac. Under Windows, create circled R registered trademark symbols ® using ALT 0174.

5. Create TM trademark symbols in HTML with & #0153; (ampersand-no space, pound sign, 0153, semi-colon) or with Unicode: & #8482; (no spaces).

In Windows go to:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map

The character map has all kinds of symbols including the © in many font varieties. From here, its a simple copy and paste job
