I'd love to learn how to create my own minisite graphics but was wondering how you go about learning? Like is there any ebooks, video training etc available? Are they mostly created using Photoshop? In which case would photoshop tutorials show you how?

i mainly use photoshop, but there are small programs out there that do stuff for you automatically, such as ecovers,etc...

Don't thing their is a ebook about this. But to make the grapfics you can use GIMP and definatlly photoshop...

Here's a blog that offers tutorials to give you a basic idea how things are done. You will need photoshop to create the images.

Here's a site that offers Free How to videos for Minisite Graphics
Free Minisite Tutorial Videos

There is also a book you may be able to find on ebay called Photoshop WOW. It's fairly technical but you'll tons of good info inside.

Hi Hamida,

You can produce top quality mini sites and graphics using Gimp, and the best part is
Gimp is free. There is a membership with videos tutorials for Gimp Graphics Videos
and it's only a one time fee of $17. I got in some time ago though a WSO.

  If you are a serious marketer, this is how you create killer minisite graphics:
  
  1. Send an email to Darren Kaye of Graphics Genie - Web Design | Minisites | Ecovers | Promo tools and say, "Hi Darren, I need a new minisite."
  
  2. Answer Darren's questions about what you need and what you're trying to convey.
  
  3. Work on your marketing until Darren's email arrives with your professional graphics.
  
  4. Done
  
  And you may think this is a little tongue in cheek. It is not. Don't waste time doing graphics, copy, articles or anything that can be outsourced. You're supposed to be the CEO of your own little company. Act like it.

  I'd have to agree with Bruce on most of what he said here. I taught myself photoshop and everything I know about doing graphics. But unless it's something you're passionate about, it's not going to be worth it. You can't really just watch a few tutorials and create something that looks like it was professionally done. Also, there's more than just technical skill involved. You have to have an eye and somewhat of a natural talent for this stuff. Some things just can't be taught. Your best bet it to focus your time on what you do best, and outsource the rest. It's not worth your time to try to master everything yourself, and you'll never be able to make significant progress attacking it this way. Just my opinion.

  I would def recommend Adobe Photoshop. There are action scripts (atn actions) that you can use to automatically generate 3D boxes, e-book covers and more.
  
  I've also been hearing some great things about GIMP but haven't actually tried it myself yet.

  Great sources already given. Obviously photshop is probably best known and most used. But before I try and design any graphics or have my graphics done for me I ask myself the question "Does this site need graphics?"
  
  Sometimes we spend too much time getting up what we think is a professional looking site and it fails. We spent too much time and too much money and haven't gotten anything to show for it except "experience".
  
  For a lot of my niches I first tested a "quick and dirty" website. If that was close to break even or profitable, then I tested tweaking the site with "professional graphics". Funny thing I have found with some websites, quick and dirty out pulls professional.
  
  It depends on your target market....becareful and always test.
