Internet Marketing is only for MEN?

It's funny to know that almost all online places that I interact always think that I am a man.
Hey, I am using Ivana as my name (it's my real name, anyway ). There is just a small possibility that there's a man named Ivana.
By learning from experience, I am also using pic but somehow, there is still a person calls me "bro" :p err...do I look like a man? ;P
This post is not about gender discrimination. I am not serious about this issue, just take it easy. It's just a funny issue that I like to talk about.

Hi Ivana - I'd like to confirm that you def don't look like a man

As for the "bro" talk I wouldn't worry too much. You'll regularly get referred to as "bro" or "mate" when online whether you are a man, woman, dog or cat... Just seems to be to lingo around here...

    Hi Ivana.

I think they are more men who do internet marketing compared to women. And in some cases some guys pretend to be women on forums. I also do get that. Even through am female.

    Hi Ivana,

I have the opposite problem - because of my name peole keep assuming I'm female. I frequently get letters addressed to 'Mrs Val Wilson' lol

Met another guy called Val once who told me his local hospital kept sending him appointments to go for a smear test. The only way he finally got them to stop was to turn up for one of the appointments....

      Haha, that's brilliant!

On-topic though; everyone seems to say 'bro' - personally, I find it quite annoying. Bro this, bro that.

I don't know the ratio but I follow as many female online marketers as I do male. I have also found that there seems to be a lot more females engaged in the top end of article marketing and the creation of top end PLR content than males. Just my 2-cents. I am male by the way

People can't be bothered with details like gender. So even with a female name and your pic, you're gonna still get people calling you dude, bro, etc.

The only way to make people take notice is by posting a very seductive photo. Not yourself, of course. But of a model in a bikini. Then EVERYONE will pay attention to you.

Proof that it works? Just ask the hairy, bad-smelling 45-year-old guys on forums who're pretending to be sexy women. LOL

LOL - you definitely don't look like a man! Another thing about photos and avatars is that irresponsible people like to put sexy photos (especially men). We need more honest people in this world =)

Nevertheless, I have met a few successful women internet marketers! I believe in gender equality!

It's really funny of you think about it :-)

I get that too but a little different. Girls think I am a girl, and dudes are confused because my name doesn't mean anything (which is true, it's all initials).

    I am a man btw!

    Hah!
Nope it is not just for men.
I think it is dominated by men with big egos, but the sad truth is at most women do it better. Better planners, more patient, and certainly more happy to help others (generally speaking of course).
You keep up the good work and don't worry about gender thing. But yes most men do, but that is just the way it is (because they think they cannot be upstaged by a girl). Seriously, I don't think anyone really has an issue with gender in this field. Cheers. David

Where I'm from, there are actually more women doing it, since the men prefer to work outside the home.

I think there are more women then ever! Back in 1997 when I started, internet marketing was for geeks and at that time most geeks were men.

since then the female community has grown immensely

I seriously doubt that it matters
whether you are a guy or gal.

    After all,
internet marketing does not involve face to face sales,
heck buyers might not even know your gender!

So, I think internet marketing is perfectly find for both gals and guys.

There is a really interesting post from a woman writer who took on a man's name for her pen name.

Google "copyblogger james chartrand underpants" and you'll find the link to her post that details her story. Quite amazing yet not really surprising to me.

Hmmmm ... maybe I should have been Ebiz Dad???

    Ivana,

I get the same thing.....dude this, dude that....lol

Doesn't bother me. I think we are in the minority, however, that is changing I believe.

I started in the beginning of 2011 and have seen an increase in the number of women achieving success in Internet marketing in just the short time I've been involved.

It's really great when you think about it.

    Have a great weekend.
