gaining traffic for a coupon site

If any of you have experience with a coupon site, do you have any tips for a way to gain more traffic? It's harder with my coupon site to gain traffic because there's not really any unique content. So I'm not too sure how to optimize it for searches. Plus I can't even do paid searches because coupon sites are considered a landing page. I added a blog section and have been playing around with that, and I could optimize some keywords that way eventually..
But beyond having a blog section, I'm kind of at a loss for how to get a little bit of initial traffic... any suggestions?

    I would recommend to gain traffic with SEO.... It will be little slow but long lasting....

    right but how do I do the SEO without lots of content? Do I have to write articles in a blog on the website? Or maybe I can add descriptions for each store listing... be a little time consuming but maybe I can add 100 words for each store....
    I'm just kind of at a loss for how to tackle this..

    I have a friend who run a coupon site and she gets ALL of her traffic from facebook. She does giveaways, and has gotten a huge following. She is alos on top of every coupon that comes out. She knows which ones people love to find. So she really knows her stuff, and over delivers to her facebook following. As far as her earnings, I am not sure how well she is doing. However I have offered her the chance to use her content on my network of moms, and we are still working out the details, BUT.. I would say those would be your best bets. get a following.

      Focus on link building. Share your deals and promotions on social media sites, post classified ads, and join different forums to get quality backlinks and spread the word about your website. You can also write a few articles about the benefits of using coupons and submit them on your site or in article directories.

        You could create an articles or blog section and write some articles about saving money with coupons, extreme couponing, using different types of coupons, where to find them, etc. That would provide the unique content.

    Facebook and SEO are great places to get traffic from other moms and parrents! Those 2 are my top traffic sources.

    1. Use Google Display Network.
    Just ask the Adwords Representatives to create the campaign for you. You can learn from it.

    2. Buy adspace through Buy Sell Ads.
    Just choose website that suit your coupon niche and you will get high CTR.

    According to me to get more traffic on these types of site you have to do marketing about that as well as you have to put your coupon codes and advertise as per relevant site I mean if it is beneficial for clothing than you have to put on clothing site which gives you good and best traffic on it.

    If you have a list (even a small one), try to do adswaps with special coupon (relevant) offers to the owners' lists.

    If you have a twitter following, try to do tweet swaps with twitter owner.

    CouponPotion, the power of pinterest for something like this is crazy. If you don't have an account already, ask someone you know that has pinterest to send you an invite and focus some of your efforts. Social media in general is going to be a fantastic ally for you in building traffic while you deal with creeping up on search engine rankings.
