Aweber Question, if You'd be so Kind

When you send a broadcast using Aweber, do you have to send it to an entire list? If you have a list of 1,000 does it have to go out to all of them? If not, and you want to send a broadcast out to say, 100 people, how do you do that? Can you choose which 100 you send it to, and track it so you can send it to a different set of 100 people, for a total of ten times and reach your whole list of 1,000 over time? Thanks!

you have to sent to the all 1,000 list, but you can control to send another email to people that didnt open your email first time, or viceversa. I dont understand what you need to do, but you can send to the las 100 people who signup for example as well, or target by country or date they signup, hope this helps

  • Hopefully you have you list segregated then you can pick who to send it to. I try to make many smaller sublists then you can sent to everyone or the sublists.

In Aweber you can create segments of your list. So you can choose for example, people who subscribed to your list on or before date x. You can play around with those settings and create smaller segments of your main list to send your emails too. I don't believe they just let you select a random quantity of people to send to though. You either send the email to the whole list or a segment of that list.

Will hit it on the head. If you have segmented your list, that would be the only way to send to a specified number of subscribers.

Great Will, thanks. If I'm following, if you had 1,000 people but wanted to send something to just 100, you could segment so you are only grabbing subscribers going back to a certain date, and basically play with that until you have a date range of 100 or so subscribers. I think that's what I'm gathering.

Correct. But there are other conditions in which you can segment a list. It doesn't just have to be on their join date... it could be email addresses that contain the word 'yahoo' or 'gmail'.. you can get creative with it.
