The best place to start is the beginning.

I would do a lot of reading and just spend time absorbing the information around this forum. After a short while you will find which direction you want to go in. Don't rush into things just for the sake of it.

READ.

Read everything you can, try everything you can.

Asking that question will confuse you. There are 100's of ways that you can make money and 100 people will give you 100 different answers.

Whichever way you choose, stick to it and make it work. Don't jump from method to method otherwise you'll be in the same position this time next year.

Step 1: Figure out what you want to do, do some KW research using Market Samurai.
Step 2: Get a website (hostgator or Nluehost are both good options).
Step 3: Learn basic on-page SEO (meta tags, header tags, etc.)
Step 4: Join something like Commission Junction and find something worthy to promote.
Step 5: Get QUALITY content up and optimize your site.
Step 6: Learn all you can about SEO.
Step 7: Never stop working - Never give up.
Step 8: Build a list (check out Aweber)

Umm, yeah... that should do it. Of course it's a LOT harder than that, but very possible and extremely profitable once you get the hang of it.

I would suggest you to start from Writing some post and promoting them. Learn new ways how to promote those post. In this learning you will come to know new and new ways of Internet marketing and Internet money making myth.

I'm working on a site now for people in the same position as you (link in the sig) so you might want to check that out, hopefully you'll find it useful.

This forum is also a total goldmine of info but remember that there's the odd piece of dud info here and there.

Also be sure to read blogs that deal with the kind of IM you're most interested in. The key is to read, learn, try out and have fun.

Heres what I did: (Warning: This is not the "easy" method. Some people are going to say "put up a blog with a lot of content and do adwords. That is great, but most likely you will not be making a good living off of adwords.. and google is notorious for shutting you down with no notice and no reason)

So heres what I do:

Decide what you are good at, what do you know that other people don't. Do you know how to garden? Do you know how to woo the ladies? Do you know the fastest way to tie a tie? Etc etc.

Write down 5 of those

If you cannot think of 5 things that you know/are good at.. go to your local library and read up on things that interest you! Remember: How do you become an expert? Call yourself an expert

So, once you know what you are good at, or what solution you can provide to peoples problems (using the gardening example, I can't garden for ****, but I would be open to buying a product that taught me how), then you need to start deciding how you are going to deliver that information. Are you going to do an ebook? audio? video? Keep in mind that list goes from least perceived value to most. And of course, you can sell a video course for a lot more than an audio or an ebook. Also, some formats would not be appropriate for certain things. (again, using gardening, I do not want to get an audio on how to garden, I want to be shown)

So, now go to www.bubbl.us and mind map out your product. Break it down into several steps, what would you teach first? If I was doing a gardening product I would probably do an intro, then discuss the tools needed (all of those little shovels and such) and then go into specific technique of planting, watering, etc.

So, now you have your product all laid out, time to produce it. Remember, "Success is doing the thing you said you would do, long after the mood in which you said it has left you."
Don't let anything get in your way! For a video product, you can use camtasia or one of the free solutions, for mac you can just use quicktime and select File - New Screen Recording. There are a million audio recorders, but I like audacity, works for both mac and windows. And then of course, for an ebook, there is good old Microsoft Word, or OpenOffice (free word basically)

Write out the script for what you want to cover, and then actually cover it! You will find once you start it is much easier to keep going.

So, you should have a product all ready and made, and you have made sure that it solves a problem that people are having, then you need to market the thing!
So, put your product on the internet, (Not going to go into the tech of how to do that, but I do cover it in one of my courses), and then design a sales funnel to sell it. (THAT I will cover, I got a free webinar on how to create sales funnels (<- Click that) if you want to check that out).

So now you have a product, and your sales funnel is set up and ready to sell the thing, you need to send traffic. There are 10,000 different traffic methods out there, Facebook Ads, Warrior Forums Ads, Google PPC, Solo ads, SEO, Flyers, Banners, etc, etc, etc. Find one that interests you, and MASTER IT. Do not try one, say "oh this doesn't work" and then move on. Keep plowing through. Get a course on the subject.

There's plenty of methods.

Create a blog and monetize it is one option, and can be done free.

A variation on that is to specifically go for AdSense, writing a blog that is likely to do well for that, as it's one of the easiest monetization methods to succeed with, as it's very much easier to get a click than a sale.

Plenty of info on this forum about how to do all that, so do your research and make a start!

I think the easiest money is in content writing or article writing. You can make immediate money but you will not make Big money doing this. You will need to create or sell products to make it big.

Amazon e-store - you are selling products people already want ! Use paid traffic and place all profits into longterm SEO - this way your guaranteed to get some proper organic traffic to set you up for passive income

There are so many ways to START...

If you are a complete newbie and do not know where to start, then google for how to earn money online. There should probably be 50 or 100 ways.

Then, read through and evaluate which one do you want to do and what is your skill. Eg: If you are good in taking photo but bad in writing, you may consider selling pictures to the stockphoto. And you can also start a photography related website.

Once you identified, then you can start researching for what is the next step (use google again). And move on and continue to focus on what you want to do.

When I first started, I was overwhelmed and I wanted to do everything. This is one of the most thing that happened to most newbies, and one will ended up not able to do or success in anything if there is no focus in one area. Try stick to one single area, and do until you are successful before jumping to another one.
