Text vs video squeeze page

I just did solo ads twice. The first time I did was using text in my squeeze page and the second time I switched it to a video squeeze page. Video squeeze page enables me to get 50% subscribers from the clicks while text squeeze page only gave me 25% of them. Will run few more tests to get the optimum result of it !

Video usually wins hands down. I have personally tried it on my sites and sales shot through the roof the moment i switched from text to video.

I think it depends on the niche...

certainly in the MMO niche I almost always click away from a video because:

      1. I get impatient and hate having to wait till the whole video is done to get the info I want
      2. I can skim through text and pick out what's important to me, can't do that with video
      3. I remember too many efforts with video showing me "this is my wife's ferrari, this is my daughter's pony, this is the castle we got married in, you can be like me too if you start selling your list out to other people like me".

      I still shudder!

And get this... I spent over $30,000 on advertising a page and found that text IN the video outperformed real video for me. i.e. a Powerpoint presentation with me talking about text in it did better than a talking head. You'd need to test it but worked for me!

Looks good, Optimize press right?? I think sometimes video is good as it can look more pro than just throwing up some text. As mentioned though, depends on the niche and also where the traffic is coming from. The younger generation often prefer video, whereas old f*rts like me still like to read pdf lol Anyway, you did the right thing, and that is to test, the only way to ever truly know.

Next thing is to test different headlines, that can make a huuuuuge difference.

    I think it's great!

The bottom line is the 50% conversion rate which is fantastic.

Did you write the script yourself? Who did the video?

Do you mind showing us the text squeeze page so we can compare?

You are going to build a massive list, and the sky is the limit.

    All the best.

A Video squeeze page is the way to go IMO. We switched to using a video landing page with no text, with the exception of three short testimonials and were getting 50.2% of the visitors saying yes that they want more information.

My advice would be to stick with the video.

Why not try both? People who prefer text can read, people who want to listen can. Simple.

We have tested both and the video only wins out.

The video does need to be engaging though.

    Was this a VALID split-test?

For the test to be valid, you'd need to alternate traffic
from the SAME solo ad between the video and text
    versions.

And what was the sample size?

It's great that you're testing, but test properly to draw
the right conclusions for your business.

      Great advice Shaun.

It is crucial that the testings are done with the same solo ad seller.

Otherwise the difference could be due to the responsiveness of different seller's list.

It depends on the area where the target audience is reside. In some countries... youtube are very hard to be accessed in term of the uploading speed. Though, actually a lot of people want to see it.
So, the text version will still make a good return than the video. That's why youtube stays behind google.

      Hey Shaun,

When testing pages for conversions, what would be the
minimum numbers of leads you would send to it?

I don't know about that. I think for sales page, video are not as effective. but for squeeze page maybe video provide more information for people to put their email in.

    hazyl lee..

I checked out your site and I love thee video.

I have been trying to create similar videos myself but they look terrible. Did you make the video yourself?

Could you or someone recommend someone who can make the same quality.
I checked on Fiverr but couldnt find much.
