Publish Kindle ebook or sell as reports

I'm writing a ~30 page report. Should I offer it to the public as a report they can buy, or publish it as a Kindle book? Thanks!

Depends on who it for? What niche? How would you offer it to the public? On your site or on a forum like this one?
If the 30 page report is loaded with killer content sell it as a Kindle ebook. Reduce it down and slightly re-write it to a 4-8 page report or something like that, change the title and offer it as a lead generation tool. Or reduce it down and offer it as a free mini course for lead generation.

Thanks! I easily COULD condense it down to offer it for free. Then sell more products to them. It's unique, killer content.

I'd be inclined to offer it as a freebie in exchange for an email address and build your list!

Build an email list by giving away your report for free.

Fixed that for you. Why not have the best of both worlds? Give them part of the content to opt them in and prove the product's worth, then sell the rest of it as a report. No reason to throw everything at them for free and be left scrambling to constantly create new stuff.

What is your niche? "How To Make Money Online" type subjects do NOT fare well on amazon. So keep that in mind.

Do you have a back-end or are you trying to build a reputation? Then go with Kindle and use it to generate leads and back-end. If this is your only product, you may want to think about selling them as reports or splitting them into two versions - a freebie with paid report back-end.

First, just try to sell it on Kindle or somewhere else. If the sales is not good, you could use it as a giveaway and build list using it.

You can do both. I have a few reports I sell both as $19.95 PDF reports from my web site and $2.99 Kindle ebooks from Amazon. These are different marketing channels and different modes of shopping.

Don't split your focus. Decide if you want to:
    a) generate leads
    b) generate sales

You can consider enrolling the ebook in the Kindle Select program and get several download and possibly a best seller ranking. Then after you do that....

Use the Amazon.com ranking as social proof of the value of the book and sell it on your own site. Take a snap shot of a) the Amazon.com ranking and b) the product price.

This is not the only strategy but a strategy...

    Hope that helps....
