Clickbank issue/problem?

Im not sure if anyone else has noticed this.....

Clickbank takes a reserve to hold out of every payment they send you. This can range from 10%-50% depending on your refund rate.

This makes sense cause it covers them in the event you disappear.

They hold this money for 8 weeks or so and then release it.(this also is perfectly acceptable)

Now this is the part that I have the problem with. Say this week you earned $1000 in sales and your reserve percentage is say 20%. You had allownace returned to you this same week for $1000(lets say you had a big week 8 weeks prior)

Now you would think you would get $1000-20%=$800 + $1000 released or $1800 total.

This is NOT The case......they will pay you $1600

The reason they do this is there charging you a reserve on the reserve that was just released. Its an endless cycle and you can NEVER escape it or expect to withdraw all your fund........its impossible for that to happen.

Then if you stop promoting via them they start charging you a maintenance fee so no matter what clickbank will take your money one way or another if you stop promoting for them.

I think this is bad ethics from a company that has been around as long as clickbank has.

Anyway Rant is over now.....I feel a lot better

I think you must be referring to the Dormant Account Charges, here?

They come into operation only when you haven't made a sale at all for 90 days, and they're only $1 every two weeks, to start with, and you can prevent even that from happening simply by buying a $3 product, just once, through your own account, which restarts the 90-day clock again.

So it's hardly the obstacle you're making it sound, I think?

I do agree with you about that, actually. I find the Dormant Account Charges pretty reprehensible, too. Just "in principle". However, to be realistic about it, their actual impact is really very minimal indeed. The reality is that if you wanted to stop, you'd just have to set your payment threshold to $10 and wait it out - you'd eventually get virtually all your commission money paid out.

actually i'm not referring to the dormant charge only at the very end......because its a cycle in which you can never get all your money out of clickbank.

Seriously check your percentages on your paycheck page and do the math for yourself.

For instance. Say you have 0 earnings this week. But they released funds from 8 weeks ago for $1000. If you still have the 20% reserve like discussed above.

You would earn $800 of the $1000. Now this was all reserve that was released from 8 weeks prior.

Why would they charge you a reserve on the reserve they just released to you?

If you stop using clickbank to promote........the reserves will keep releasing......everytime you hit your payment threshold you will be zapped again for the 20% over and over and over again until you go below your payment threshold.

This can go on for some time but once you hit that point......dormancy fees will set it.......its kinda like extortion lol
