My IM story + lessons learned

Hey everyone!

Back to the February 2010 I graduated from my university and got a job. During my study I worked about 4 hours per day, and just after about a month of full-time job I felt completely unhappy. I didn't like the job itself, I didn't like the fact that I spend significant amount of my time either sitting in the office or in business trips. Actually, the worst think was the fact that I cannot spend my time the way I want, basically, I just sold such precious resourse to my employer. After 3 months I finally decided to take some action

It was a little bit hard, since I live in Russia and our segment of internet is not filled with strategies, IM forums, and guides. So before coming to IM I've spent decent amount of time and money trying to get rich via poker playing (just to brag, I even managed to win about 500 in 3 months ) and sports betting (long story, but lost over $3K).

So, in my IM journey the most hard part was just to beleive in the fact I really can make money online. Can't remember now what was the thing that really encouraged me that much, but in December 2010 I've found google Adsense and that really was the "a-ha!" moment

During all year 2011 I was struggling with Adsense. I learned a lot, I ranked a plenty of micro sites myself, I used various linkbuilding services, despite my poor English, I even 1000 words posts just to make Google happy. I failed a lot and succeeded a lot. Do you remember your first $100 Adsense check? I bet you do! This memory is fresh for me just like it was yesterday. And I also remember my first Adsense account banned when I just managed to hit my first $3000 month... Unforgettable Sometimes I felt like I was a personal enemy to big G.

Anyway, that was the experience that taught me to diversify my income streams. Late 2011 majority of my income came through Adsense, but I already started learning Clickbank. In he end of a year I joined Warrior Forum and that gave a HUGE boost to my studying process. In order not to rely on Google, I started doing PPC and gained pretty much success with 2nd tier PPC engines and Clickbank. By the time Penguin came I managed to put all my effort to paid traffic sources, so it didn't hurt my earnings at all.

Now it is already 6 months since I may call myself as Internet Marketer. I left my job, most of my income come from Clickbank and CPA, but I always try to find another sources. For example, recently my friend offered my a nice offline JV and it seemed too tempting for me to disagree. Also, I am now actively involved in creation of sports live streaming site. It already gains traffic

For those, who find this post too long (and I completely understand them), some bullet points. Kind of lessons learned

1. There is enough free information to start earning in this forum. If you choose a method and stick to it, results will come. 100% sure.

2. Mindset is everything. You will fail. Maybe even not once. Sometimes it feels like you are surronded by darkness. Just keep going. You can't imagine how precious could be the reward that is waiting for Warrior that doesn't give up.

3. Try to difersify. Online, offline, investment, flipping burgers. We are businessmen and every business is unpredictable.

4. Your time is priceless. Once you see your method works, outsource as much as possible. If done right, it really pays off.

5. I learned a lot from this forum and want to say BIG THANKS to all fellow warriors that spend their time giving advice here.

6. Sorry for my English, it's not my first language, but I tried my best to be understandable

Right on! I failed many times. The biggest reward is the wisdom you gain from it.
