Is being a cam model count as making money online?

Just curious because that's the only thing i made extra money online in pure profit, instead of CPA, affiliate, or seo. My interest is CPA, but still learning, & trying to get the hang of it. I provide services to my customers, lol.

Absolutely. If you made money online, you've made money online. It's as simple as that. I've done some work as a cam model as well and you can make some good money doing that! Don't get discouraged. Keep learning about CPA too, just try a variety of things and find what you like best.

Depending on the site you are working for, there is not much that's "softporn" about it. It's pretty explicit, in my experience. Think sites like myfreecams.com, which is one I've worked with.

I'll let you use your imagination when it comes to the details.

It's quite lucrative, but involves more work and creativity than most people seem to realize. Might be thinking that it's easy to be a stripper, cam model or some other type of adult themed entertainer. It's not. Try asking yourself honestly, "how many sexual things are possible to do on camera by yourself in a single room?" Might seem like a long list, until you are trying to make money as a cam model by working for several hours a day...you run out of ideas pretty quickly, believe it or not. Requires you to use your imagination and keep things fresh and exciting.

If shaking your ass online is bring in the dough, then as far as I'm concerned your still (quite literally in-fact) making money online. I would even argue that, stripping, or doing any particularly explicit thing via a web-cam and making money is far safer than the alternatives.

That said, I promote cam sponsors on my network of adult content sites. Most pay outrageous PPS rates and that's just to get the user to sign up! No money spent. Of course there are rev-share codes as well if you wish to promote that way.

If your interested in CPA, and are actively creating cam content, why don't you see if you can promote the site you are performing for? I would check to make sure that is allowed of course--as you'd potentially be making a commission on sales your already being paid for.

    Just my two cents...

Any profit derived from the internet would classify as 'making money online' - heck, if someone paid you to read emails then you could accurately say that you have been making money via the internet.

As they say, sex sells, and this is as close to sex as it (virtually) gets. I'm sure the market is much larger as a female entertainer, but I'm sure you're catering to a desperate market

Yep, i though so too. When i first started 6 months ago, i though there was not a market for it, only on girls. I was wrong, there's a bunch of curious men out there. I was only online for 2 hours last night, & i made 110 bucks in one customer. I do have slow nights, & good nights.

I don't understand why someone would pay for this when they have all the soft/hard porn they could ever need right at their finger tips for free.

If I was ever going to do something like this, I would probably go the porn route. Well no I wouldn't... you need like a 10 inch XXXX for that.

You know what let me just get out of this thread before I embarass myself... :p

You can make special requests with cam models and build up your ow private collection. There is a serious demand for cam models, both male and female.

It definitely counts as making money online, but some may consider it low class along the lines of fiverr selling.

She beat me to explaining that one. Why watch porn when you can interact with a girl/guy and essentially get custom ordered porn in real time? lol

You should check out extralunchmoney.com, that's a great site that allows you to offer custom adult jobs and also lets you upload and sell your vids/pics/etc as instant downloads. I've made some money on there and they even have a referral program! The owners are cool as hell too (wrote a guest post for their blog and was interviewed on their bi-weekly show).

^^ Your right, it's way different than watching porn. A lot of the customers they like to interact, & get to know the model's personality.

Thats interesting makes a lot of sense. I guess I don't really think about this when I watch porn but its definitely true. If I see a video where the girl is acting like a rude little bitch I will go find something else to watch.

There is probably a much larger psychological component to porn that most people even realize, including myself. I can't even imagine what porn will be like 10 years from now.

Will probably be able to sort videos by personality types, what their favorite color is, whether they like dogs or cats. But now I'm just getting ahead of myself.

Cam modeling is the dirty little secret of many people. It's really the only sure fire way to make immediate money online if you are lacking other resources like special skills or money to implement projects. And I think culture has progressed (or degenerated) to the point where this is acceptable, though still taboo enough to not really talk about it.

I used to mess with it using Yahoo chat and PayPal like 10 years ago. I would charge a flat rate $30 per show and do as many as I could in a day. I wish the options that exist today were available to me back then.

I never went "pro" so I can't say what it's like, but it seems to me that Flirt4Free's $6 per minute cost is steep. Maybe they have a high end user base and it works fine. Also check out Cam4, where you set your own token goals such as "1000 shirt, 2000 pants, 3000 nude, 4000......" Each token is worth 1 cent and anyone in the chat can contribute to help meet the goals. Some people also just say "tips appreciated" and do their show. How much you can ask for really depends on how good you look. I know one guy that would drop into chat for an hour before bed and pull in at least $75. Usually it was over $100.

Really crazy that people can just use their body and a webcam to make in one hour what someone less physically gifted spends all day at their job for.

  • Yes, it does count as making money online. It is far better compared to watching porn on sites. It's not scripted. There are even customers who make a request as to what the model should do in order to please them more. Of course, the more satisfied the customers are, the more business that will come your way. They will become loyal customers. For sure they will keep on coming back to see more.

Yep, very true. like that one customer i had a long private chat, he's been my customer since i first started, & just kept coming back for more. The other popular models that work longer, make more than me because they have a big customer base.

Why not make your own cam modelling site? I've thought of this, but haven't done for 2 reasons.

    I'm a family man, it feels morally..."icky"

I understand the business model and how it brings boatloads of cash, but the creation of the business seems like it would require copious amounts of hard work and I've heard even the most popular sites only make 150-200k/year at best

But if it's what you know, I'd imagine that's the way to go for you

I have no doubt that it will definitely involve some kind of 'virtual reality' within 10 years. As far as I know, there are already basic machines/bodysuits that allow users to physically 'feel' one another via the internet, so I can see a huge market for that kind of technology.

I was promoting flirt4free a few years back, and made a fair few dollars. I recall making $75 a day from one particluar guy who kind of fell in love with one of the cam models. I used to look forward to getting up and seeing how much I'd made via that particular guy.

It clearly is as you are using your creativity and imagination to deliver a service to people who have the demand and you make a decent amount out of it. however it would be better if you start your own website. as it will be more profitable. meanwhile if you have interest in any other niche as well then you can work on other skills in the meanwhile.
