Derek Gehl Is Retiring

Just got an email from Derek Gehl that he's retiring from IMC.

I wonder just how much of an impact this is really going to have considering
how huge this company is.

He says he won't be announcing his unretirement in a couple of months
either.

Whatever DOES happen, should prove to be an interesting transition for
the company.

    I received the same email

I credit him with for creating my first interest in IM about 3 years ago. I am sure that the company will continue well without him because they know how to run a business.

I only wish I had retired at his age. A few more years for me I think

I would assume they've got a decent system in place which should ensure the company goes on no matter who's in charge... within reason, of course.

They still have the same products and the same army of affiliates promoting them. They also still have the same dominance in the search engines for terms like "Internet Marketing."

I think just like Gehl stepped in for Corey, someone else can step in for him just the same. Their systems are already in place.

Did he say what he was going to be doing?

Have to agree with Ron. They have a system in place that will make it easy to continue with the business model. It will be interesting to see if someone from within steps up or if it was sold to an "outsider".

They keep calling, begging me to take it over, but it's much too cold in Canada. Plus the $10 million a year or whatever they do is too small for me to even consider it. I told them to call back when they're a billion dollar public company and maybe I'll consider a round of golf or something. LOL

LOL... you need to be in the Vancouver part of Canada - not too bad over here!

The IMC was one of the first affiliate marketing (AM) programs that I joined.

They never failed to pay my commissions on time and in my opinion they were one of the best AM programs on the Internet. I was deeply saddened to learn of Cory's death.

I feel that there has been a change in direction of the company post Cory's death and I rarely promote IMC products/services now.

The company I am sure is still strong and must still have many customers and affiliates.

If the core business plan is robust then when Derek Gehl moves on, if a new leader can be found, perhaps a person more in the Cory Rudl mold, who could dove tail into the real core business of IMC then hopefully, it should not only survive, but thrive.

Heck, I might just dust off the cobwebs from my affiliate links and start promoting again!

          Regards,
          Jeff Henshaw.

Hm. That must have been the email I deleted without reading. You do have to stop and wonder when a leader quits an upstanding company like IMC, especially considering all the promises made after Cory's death.
