Aliens and flying saucers fall under the Paranormal market and there's lots of hungry buyers there. That means there's lots of competition. What can you bring that they haven't seen?

i have many...many ways.. but actually im not into that type of stuff but last night i was watching a provocative show about aliens, i did some investigation..i knew the subject eas was popular but not THAT popular, so it intrigued me. Im already formulating aves to monetize this, shouldnt be too hard to squeeze a few bucks from it...

It certainly is a huge niche, it would be a good idea to hang around in related forums and browse paranormal type sites to see what kind of products are being sold/ what questions people have etc.
A related niche is the 'Conspiracy Theory' niche, which could be tied in very nicely in a 'what the powers that be are trying to keep from you' kind of way.
These niches tend to attract a lot of, shall we say, strange people, but there are also a lot of folks with more than a passing interest who would be interested in quality information.

If you like it would be very probably monetize that site, recommending books, toys.

But only if you like that niche, if it's only speculation then not

Wow, an alien niche. That's a very interesting topic to write about. Let me make a research on the appropriate titles for that e-book/report.

yea aliens, zombies and the paranormal are hot right now. when you do your niche, make sure you target a couple of keywords that will get you the traffic and won't be to competitive.

I'm having a hard time seeing where the money is at here. Sure its a niche that has a nice following but I doubt they're looking to buy a whole lot. I think you'd have a hard time competing with all the free info that's widely available on the internet.

Books, telescopes, cameras, etc have always been very popular within this very lucrative niche. And if you tie it in with the end of the world, Mayan calendar, UFO sightings, Area 51, government coverups, and selected conspiracies, you've got a winning combination! Some reports show that well over half of the population believes in this stuff, and 80 percent of Americans think the government is hiding knowledge of the existence of extraterrestrial life forms.

Public Opinion Polls - 50% of the Population Believes in Reality of UFOs

    Hi howit
This is one niche that I have never given much thought about>
But I am sure if you look at the broad scope from "little green men" to "conspiracy theories" and even to movies... I am sure there are hundreds if not thousands of products out there..food for thought definitely.

There's a lot of potential in stuff like aliens, paranormal, conspiracies etc. You could call it evergreen in that there's always a fresh crop of youngters growing up as "consumers" of this type of info. I could think of a few ways of monetizing this - bearing in mind that you'll have highly targeted traffic on your site. Also to bear in mind that a large proportion of visitors will be youngish adults with not a lot to spend. So...

    - Advertising: Adsense would work (but check policies). Amazon too - e.g. X-Files DVD box-sets, a whole bunch of X-Box and PS3 games, books galore. Set up your own astore or wishlist with your products.

    - If you have real meaty content, membership to view premium content with teasers for public viewers.

    - Publish a compilation of stories, pics, videos - e.g. have a forum and then create an anthology of real life alien encounters (haha).

    - If your site takes off and has a trendy logo, then CafePress like some of the bigger sites have done like abovetopsecret.com.

Lots of potential - I'd focus on traffic and advertising first personally.

    Good luck,
    Dee

Lol I have no experience in the alien niche. It seems to me like the followers of it are pretty passionate though. I'm sure you could find something to sell. Maybe a membership site or some sort of statue and medallion type stuff similar to the gift sets that you can get with Halo games. Not sure if that makes sense but they like nice unique items

One of my main niches is ghost hunting. However, people keep asking me about aliens, like I should know about all areas of paranormal research. (The truth: It's like asking your piano teacher to teach you the violin, instead.)

About a year and a half ago, I wrote a book about UFOs. I chose one very narrow sub-niche. It was partly for fun, and partly as a personal challenge, to see if I could do it.

I collected all kinds of wild information. After I wrote the book, I deliberately went back and added typos, so it looked more like something out of "Conspiracy Theory" (movie).

The book sold about a dozen copies. Big yawn.

Then, I turned it into a Kindle book. With nothing to lose, I featured it as a free download for four days.

It's currently selling about half as many Kindle books, daily, as my best-selling Content Curation Handbook.

I'll never admit that the UFO-related book is mine. Not a chance.

However, it's doing well enough that I'm currently working on two sequels.

Tip #1: Choose an X-Files episode. Then, research that particular kind of alien or paranormal entity. Question-and-answer books are pretty easy, and you can collect information from forums.

Tip #2: There are all kinds of great graphics and photos available from NASA, and many of them are like public domain illustrations, because they're funded by American tax dollars. Check the actual rights first, of course, but... well, you can get some great illustrations for your book, free, and you might find a really spectacular, free, cover graphic.

The UFO field is all speculation, anyway, but if you provide a book that's truly useful... well, it can sell. I've been absolutely astonished by the success of my first, whimsical venture into this niche.
