Is this site worth selling?

I have a friend who wants to sell his website, Via City Loop because he doesn't update it anymore. It's set to renew in a couple of weeks and he's wondering if it's worth putting on Flippa.com - which he's never used.

He said it gets about 120 unique visitors per month, most of which come through Google Search for a bunch of random keywords relating to fashion and art in Melbourne (Australia).

The content and design is all 100% original. He also owns Via City Loop which redirects to it. Domain was created in July 2009.

How much do you think the site is worth and is it worth selling at all?

Thank you.

Site has very low visitors with presumably 0 revenue. Likely not worth much if anything but the hosting it sits on I would guess.

For 120 unique visitors per month, it is not worth anything in my view. He better off put some Google adsense ads on his website and make some extra money with that. I would not waste too much time on trying to sell it. Sorry, but I am just being honest here.

    That is my opinion.

You just never know. Someone may like the name and have bigger ideas for it. The aged domain is a real plus and 120 visitors a month is better than none. It may be that a buyer is looking for something they can build up for a local marketing project with that domain name.

If your friend wants to sell, he will probably have to go ahead and renew the domain. Two weeks is not much time to get the offer ready and to get a sale going. If he does renew, he should put Adsense ads up. Any click will be income and the site will be worth more if it's making income.

On a more realistic note, this doesn't seem to be a probability for a major profit making experience for your friend. He may be able to get back some of the expenses and that would be good.

This is a very good question. Thanks for posting it.

    Best regards,
    Carole

Thank you for the responses everyone. They are very helpful. He made the site as a bit of a hobby to write about stuff in Melbourne, so I think it's possible someone in that kind of industry might be interested, but from a pure monetization view, it's not profiting right now so it won't appeal to a lot of people, especially Internet Marketers. It's quite niche.

Kinda strange for a website of that age to have no page rank.

    What gives?

Very low traffic. Any revenue? Flippa's fee is $29 just to list plus a success fee (if it sells) plus $79 to get featured and most don't get a lot of traffic if they're not featured the last day or so of the auction, so if it's not a revenue producer, it might be better to let it go to website heaven where other non-producing, low traffic, neglected websites go.
