I've been lurking around here for around 2 weeks now and thought I would introduce myself and ask a few questions!
I understand there's a lot of newbies saying the same things but I'll go ahead anyway. Up until half way through this year I hadn't known what I wanted to do in life I had pretty much accepted to take a low end job despite knowing that I can do more but never really pushing myself.

I thought finding a nice woman to settle down with was a great idea at first until that went sour and I ended up back at rock bottom out of my comfort zone having sold all my luxuries and sleeping on the couch at my mums. :p
Then I decided to pick myself up and not bother with women and jobs just yet and started doing weight & cardio training just as something to keep me occupied and driven towards a target.

I'm in much better shape now and at my strongest mentally as well .
I actually found this site from a blackhat site that I often browsed hoping to find new ideas to make money some way or another, I have made money in the past selling software and stuff in grey hat areas and I'm not too proud but it's good for me to be honest with you.

Anyway upon reading this site which I visit about 5x a day, it's changed my mindset dramatically and I've been soaking up as much information and tips as possible.
I've always wanted to be involved within the web but never finished IT at college etc and just spent my time within the local music scene in my city and surrounding places from this I managed to make some life long friends and become semi-known through my forum/s that I created and were admin on for some time. These sites grossed around 4k a year for me in total through vip subscriptions without the aim to do much more than pay hosting and have the rest as a bonus. After that I created a blog on the same subject with a friend and that got a good response too. However now the music is dying down and its not something that would be easy to monetize and I'm not sure I would want to at this point anyway but it has helped me gain skills in VBulletin and WordPress and have a overall understanding of what audiences want and how to get ahead of competition and how to talk to people/get them to interact.

Now after reading the forum and getting to know the basics of whats what my interest has grown in 'out of the box ideas' which may be short term (Fiverr) as well as more long term such as 'micro niche amazon sites' and 'Kindle books'.
With kindle I've questioned myself and wondered why not me? Ok I'm not an author and apart from blogging and reading the odd book I don't know too much about writing at all but how do we know that unless we try?

So right now I'm stuck on what to take action on. WSO's seem appealing as they have a direct plan but I'm weary and want to pick the right one that will guide me into understanding it for myself.

I recently thought about my hobbies and I focus alot on diet and training at the moment so if I wrote some sort of a guide with all my own tips from my own experience would I be able to sell that, how would I go about something like that, getting the format right etc and where to market it etc?

Sorry for babbling on I don't usually make these sort of posts and end up retracting before I finish typing but my new rule I've picked up from here is to take action.

Hi and welcome to the site.

I am pretty new here also but have found lot's of help and advice so far.

I used to live in Leeds, Yorkshire also (it's a great city) but live in London now!

There are lots of offers and ways of making money out there, the thing is to research them and find the one that suits you. This can sometimes take awhile but it is better than jumping head first into the first one you find.

Also, don't be afraid of failing and don't pack it in if you fail at first. In my point of view everyone NEEDS to fail at some point just so they can learn from there mistakes.

    GOOD LUCK

      haha noticed that too.

anyway, i think you could sell some books about fitness and stuff if you happen to be a talented writer. we could help you though by giving us samples of your writings.

      Cheers,

Absolutely 100% important. Other things equally important (top of my head stuff):
    1. Get a mentor
    2. Get a clear plan and stick to it
    3. Don't look for "get rich quick" - doesn't exist
    4. Do one thing at a time and finish it
    5. DON'T get DISTRACTED
    6. Work Hard
    7. Make that 1st $ from your new efforts (confidence building)
    8. Beware the hype
    9. Be prepared to invest in yourself (time and money)
    10. Don't ever give up and ignore naysayers
So, very best of luck - hope it goes well for you.

Oh, yes - build a list of prospects and customers - don't forget to do that!

I'm getting ready for my fourth book to kindle, but I sat back on promoting so I'll need to get focused on that or I can write till the cows come home. No traffic, no sales!
