How do you sell amazon products?

Hello,

I have been an amazon affiliate for some time now. Havent made much but a few cents here and there but I am not going to give up.

I was just wondering what other people do to sell amazon products?

In the past I've targeted forums with people looking to sell products by posting a lot in them with a signature file and links to amazon products. I've made a very easy 2-300 a month doing this by spending about 30 mins a week.

Whatever it is you do, don't be pushy and know your topic. I know a guy who used a WP theme and then custom coded the cart to add all his niche products, once at checkout the site would direct to amazon and auto populate the amazon cart with the products.

    Think outside the box.

I do what others do not. By targeting low competition products, I can rank almost any product review that I publish on my site. Using this strategy, I make very good money and I don't have to spend hours and hours and hours building backlinks.

How low is low competition? Is there anything over $100 that is low competition in your experience?

Low competition = First page of Google includes nothing but PR0 and PRNA sites with weak backlink profiles.

There are plenty of products over $100 that very few people are promoting.

I build authority-type product review sites in various niches. Each site contains 50-100 product reviews (1 per product) and takes only a few weeks to complete.

I make use of automated bookmarking software to get indexed/ranked.

You write 50-100 reviews in a week? I am actually doing a similar strategy right now with an authority site, but cannot imagine that volume!

BTW, what is a good revenue per unique visitor for an Amazon site in your opinion?

Nah. It typically takes me 3-4 hours to build the site's infrastucture and then another 20-40 hours (spread out over a month) to add the reviews, depending on how many I add.

And I do "cheat" a bit on the reviews. I don't start with a blank sheet of paper every time. I have a system in place that tells me exactly what to write so I can usually create a full product review (complete with pros and cons) in under 15 minutes.

I format my site (using Wordpress) as an e-commerce site with each product getting 1 review per page (post).

Just to make it clear, let say you are in weight loss niche.. You have a website for this..You find 50 products from amazon, write a review for each of this product..and then build some backlinks.. Right?

Yes, but I don't build backlinks because I don't have to. The only backlinks I "build" are the automated bookmarks of each new review that I post. Since each review only takes me 15 minutes to write, I can do several a day in short order.

There are many ways to sell amazon/click bank products. Great ways to sell....

                -YouTube videos
-Affiliate link on Social Media sites
                -Link in ebook or report
                -Link in Articles and distribute

These are great ways to get clicks to amazon/click bank products. Along with these strategies I also build a whole website around the product. Some reasons I do this is because it continues to get specific traffic from SEO, also after getting ranked it will be continues profit without much work.

                Hope this helps!

I still have a few amazon sites left but have switched to email marketing and also doing cpa which I have been doing for quite a while. I just felt like the market was so saturated with amazon that I did not want to fight everyone. Plus it just never was my cup of tea.

I use review sites and build them up with massive reviews. Some have well over 100 reviews and I continue to build them with more. You won't see a ton of traffic from ten or even twenty reviews, but if you put out massive content, you will get the traffic.

Besides getting "review sites" ranked, there are dozens of other effective marketing methods for driving traffic. My sites have never ranked above the murky depths because I sell in some of the most hotly competitive niches. Consider using article syndication in online/offline publications, email promotions, social media, classified ads, display ads, direct mail, radio advertising, telemarketing, and face to face sales for the high end products.

I do no backlinking at all outside of the initial automated bookmarking of each new review that I post.

Your layout can be re-worked a little. The color is a bit too bright that makes me want to leave the page. There isn't enough content. About what? 100 words max? Try to go for 300-450 words.

I'd definitely add an about me page, contact page and privacy policy. Those are major major major keypoints.

Try to have another link that leads to the product.

    I definitely follow wolf's example.

    DIY - themes is good.

The dog site is never going to sell a lot as it is a bit ugly and the text doesnt really sell/add value to the customer. First, get a new theme! You need more content above the fold, and you can go wider.

Just one word of advice: "don't"

Unless you REALLY know what you are doing, an autoblog (or auto-anything) is not going to be profitable. I know this because I own a few autoblogs.

Hi Wolfmmiii, what do you think about WPZon Builder? Would you use it? Is there someone who can tell the pros and cons of this plugin?

I am kinda new to Amazon associates sites (not my core business) and I would like to understand where to start.

        Thanks

I don't like any of the existing "builder" apps/themes as most of them pull in scraped content. I developed my own review system (Review Sites Made Easy) that I use for my review sites.

At the end of the day, providing your own content and presenting in a unique angle will take you much further than all of the push-button "builders" and plugins.

I've made alot of money as an Amazon affilaite and I did so with a very simple strategy. Target lower competition "stuff", rank well, get targeted traffic, and profit.

Amazon pays about 4% on a good day. If I were you, I'd rewrite some PLR and get some fresh graphics, get a PayPal account, an Aweber account, and start building a list to sell to.

Amazon has only "session" cookies, which means that as soon as they close the browser, you lose the time, money and effort you spent sending them to that offer.

Of all the affiliate offers to promote, Amazon is my personal "least favorite."

I actually used to promote Amazon products about 4 years ago and this was the case. Things may have changed.... But Amazon is still my "least favorite" way to make money online.

...I guess you can get a higher commission if you can drive enough traffic.

Hey there Wolf, hope you're enjoying your weekend..
I did a quick [exact] search on the AdWords keyword Tool for the following:

    DEWALT DCS310S1
    DEWALT DCS310S1 Review

I noticed the results were only between <10 to 22 monthly searches. You mentioned you still make a sale here and there from that product...

Do you usually focus on products with less than 50 monthly searches? Because to my knowledge it would require me to be on the very first spot to get a sale or two for this specific product, assuming I depend entirely (or mostly) on Google..

So, what is the minimum monthly searches (exact match) you are generally comfortable with?

    Thanks in advance, and congrats

I don't even look at keyword tools. The problem with most marketers today is that "number of searches" has been drilled into their heads by "gurus". As such, most people ignore the fact that although a specific product shows 20 exact searches per month, there are 100 other closely-related terms and variations that also get 20 searches per month. I rank for many (sometimes even most) of them.

The strategies that I employ require a whole new way of looking at things.

That's some pretty interesting stuff, Wolf. I go about my amazon marketing entirely differently.

My basic strategy works off the fact that if someone is shopping online, they are quite probably going to buy from amazon. So if you can get affiliate links that'll get lots of clicks from lots of people, odds are a couple of them will buy a bunch of stuff and you'll get the commissions.
I get my clicks from a bunch of different sources, but I don't want to go into details because some are contingent on low competition. Basically: get enough clicks and you'll make money from amazon, regardless of where those clicks come from. Some places are more valuable than others, obviously, like the clicks that wolf gets.

Yes, this shotgun approach can work. There was a time, many moons ago, when I was making upwards of $500/day as an eBay affiliate doing something similar.

These days, I prefer the system I now employ as it requires no more than an hour or so per day and that includes content creation. I get targeted traffic that I know will convert.

All of the above. List the pros and cons, discuss the features, compare them to other products, etc. My sites do it all. That is why my sites get ORGANIC backlinks from major sites.

Gday Wolf and all, (apologies all if im doing this wrong but i cant PM and trying to contact is a bit difficult since i only joined yesterday) I bought your Amazon review site kit on another thread (my paypal starts as littlebill...). Going by dates looks like the threads dead or abandoned. I can see just one template in the download (i thought i read there were 10 themes), anyway i can style it, but wanted to know if i can apply it to a responsive template as just a standard site i see as cutting out half the market these days with other devices. any reply would be great. Cheers

          Hi...

I just responded to your email. I wouldn't say the WSO thread is abandoned as I do check it every so often but yes, it is an older thread (product).

I've had a second-hand book business on Amazon for 6 years. It provides me with an OK part-time income with decent stock. As a ball-park guideline you make about 1-2 sales a day per 1000 books you have listed with them. An account is easy to set up. Hope this helps.

Its pretty simple. Just find products that have 3 stars or more, 10 comments or more and that make you a $20 profit at a 4% commission rate. I say a 4% commission because that's the minimum commission you start at. Plus if your not making at least $20 at a 4%commission then in my opinion the product isn't worth marketing unless your marketing a low priced product to quickly move up the commission rate. Theres a good wso i had a long time ago (I don't know if i'm allowed to refer wso's but the name of it is called azon destruction) PM if you need further instruction

For Amazon product, the visitor should land from any targeted keywords, those keywords should have the word "review", "buy" then it would have good conversion rate.

    i agree,
you large authority sites promoting 20-50 products from the same category on one single site,
the only problem is the very low commissions for some of the products, 4%
