Making an E-Product: Looking for Insights

Hello everyone, I'm completely new to the world of internet marketing. I've spent the last month or so studying like a mad-man, and I've learned a ton.

My intent is to bring the world's first program to help people sell their houses themselves. It's a hell of a lot of work because I'm putting 7 years of experience with me. I know most people who enter this field of working online go affiliate first, but frankly it doesn't appeal to me, I don't feel motivated to do that.

Now my question is before I continue making this product should I try some dry-selling without taking any credit card info and fire up a PPC campaign and see how things potentially look before I go completely insane?

What would you do? What lenses would you experienced people do that idiots like me should know? Now, not to trump my horn, but I already have good copywriting skills from my business, and I understand a lot of the major concepts.

So what do you guys think? Any and all help is appreciated!!!

Jeff I just want to thank you for that. That's really good advice. I think you solved all my problems with just a few words!!!

One more question... let's say they opt-in, should I give them a free report or just tell them there will be a free report? Again a wonderful thanks in advance.

Give them a much shorter version of what you're selling. It has to have real information in it, but not too much. It's sort of an ethical teaser.

It might also be an option to ask them to complete a quick 2 or 3 question survey in order to get the freebie. Then you'll build a list, and see what your potential customers are looking to learn.
