Please be thorough when teaching your methods

I just wasted a lot of time. In a WSO there was instructions to sign up at a site where I can sell digital goods, but in the end, after 3 hours of... stuff.... I was no further ahead. Here's what happened:

I went to the site to sign up, and found out that it cost $4.95 to sign up. hmmm... that wasn't even mentioned in the WSO.
However, I could sign up for free through my Facebook account.
So... not wanting to use my personal/private FB account for IM activity, I created a FB page for my business, which is done via my personal account.
After much rigamarole in getting THAT done (I started a thread about it earlier this evening), including creating a cover image, new profile image, etc., to get the new page up and running properly due to FB's image size requirements and such, I finally get back to the site I want to sign up at.
It turns out I that can't sign in via Facebook using the Page I created. I would have to switch back to my personal account! *pulling hair*
Soooo... I decide to sign up to the site as an affiliate, which is totally free, and I don't need to do it through FB.
Once I was an affiliate, only then do I find out... I can't sell as an affiliate, I can only be part of a group?????

I just wish that the original instruction to use this particular site has mentioned all these twists & turns. Now it's after midnight here, and I have gotten nowhere.

PLEASE!!! If you are going to teach someone something, BE THOROUGH!!

Joel, I sure do feel your frustration. Sometimes, people want to make such a quick buck that they hurry up with their product and blast it on the market for a quick buck. WE all have been victims of it. You're not alone brother.

THe best thing I would say to do is sign up for the war room because there are GREAT resources in there. But watch out.. there's so many to choose from that you mind end up reading everyting and NOT DOING ANYTHING. HOwever, it's good you're taking action.

I'll be glad to help you out, and i do give thorough instructions so if you even need help, come holler at me :-)

By the way, can you tell us this WSO so other people can watch out for it??

I feel ya... but just look on everything as a learning experience. I tried doing some commenting, joining sites via my Facebook Page for Link Juice to the page, figured out that that's not possible... Now we both know for future reference. So not all time and effort is lost

There are legit methods and products out there, but I'm not a big fan of WSO's myself. 9 times out of 10, there seems to be something missing. Then again, most WSO's are pretty cheap. I'd rather spend a little more and get a full course.

lol....you didn't even pay for the WSO in question, it was given to you free. Then you couldn't be bothered to pay $4.95 to sign up at TB, nor could you be bothered to do the simple thing and just sign up with your Facebook account like a normal person would do.

Folks, sometimes we make things harder on ourselves unnecessarily.

First of all, I did forget that it was a free WSO at the time, but that doesn't change the fact that now-paying customers are getting less informed than they should be.

Secondly, as far as paying $4.95, I'm glad you've never known finances so low that $4.95 is like $104.95. But being a Black Hatter I'm not surprised at your lack of understanding.

Last but not least, your reading comprehension needs work, or you'd know why I didn't "just sign up" with my Facebook account.

        Folks, some people......

I think you should stay away from buying anything if $5 is like $100. Become a content writer at any of these outsourcing sites and you will feel like you hit the jackpot everyday.

As I mentioned in the very post you quoted, I had forgotten that I got that WSO for free. So that was a help.

As for not buying anything at all, that's just silly. I do have a little to spend, but if I put out little bits here, little bits there, then the larger amount I do have slowly gets eaten away until there's nothing left to make a larger purchase that has more value.

I've waited 4 years to have the money to return to IM and do it properly with lots of cash to work with. Cash that has never come due to things out of my control (yes, some thing can be out of a person's control, no matter what the gurus tell you). So I'm using what little I have right now to start building. And I'm forced to start small, but I also know enough not to blow everything on all these little stepping stones. So yes, at this time $5 is too much to pay for one membership to a website that I don't absolutely need to join.

That happens a lot nowadays. It's just a "trick" -a way to say it better- to get more sign ups. It's an example of what we say "better to have value than big numbers" . I personally first do a search before I sign up so i can get the review and opinions of others

  • I have purchased $1000 and $2000 and they where NEVER thorough. I have to on my own figure out the gaps. I'm sure there are systems the spell out every little detail but I haven't found one and I have purchased. Just my observation and I have ding for a decade and purchased tons of home study courses (way more expensive then WSO's).

I must admit sometimes I make the mistake when teaching of not being thorough enough.

When you are explaining something step by step it is easy to miss something out. However that said, with marketing as long as it is actual marketing there is no set template you need to be able to adapt and tweak as needed.

For instance I created a product about "product creation" and think I have covered ALL steps, in fact I am sure I have, but the end user still needs to make decisions on the niche they are going to pick, keywords etc...
