Setting up an affilaite program for a physical product...

Looking for some general guidance/pointers from anyone who's setup an affiliate program as the vendor of a physical product. I can't go into any more details, besides that the product is currently available in retail stores and is looking to expand into the online space.
Can anyone suggest a framework for the aff program? I've looked at Clickbank since I'm very familiar with them for digital products, however I don't know how good they are for physical stuff? Also - I want control over who can and who cannot promote this product, so Clickbank may not be the best option.
Any resources or nudges in the right direction would be greatly appreciate.
