wordpress versus webpage

I use WordPress for my full service website. From what I have learned it is a great tool with plenty of features depending on what kind of site you are trying to get up. I reccomend looking into a premium theme they can be pretty cheap anywhere around $20+ for a good theme with lots of features.

Depends of the kind of site, what do you plan to do?

As an example, if I'd want to create a site to offer my service I'd go with an static html site, and for affiliate sites I like wordpress, because you can create pages, post and interact with people through comments in a easy way

It all depends on what you really need or what you want to include on your website but it is possible to use wordpress as your webpage. If you prefer to do that, here's a link that might help you more.

WordPress now can be used for full websites, not only for blogs. It depends on what you want to show on website, you might want to buy theme, install plugins. Just pay attention on updating, securing a bit, then you will be fine. In fact, it's safer than custom codes in many circumstances.

WordPress started its journey as a blogging platform but by the course of time it has become most powerful CMS ( content management system ).... You can make almost any site with the help of WordPress back-end.

I personally use wordpress for my all production sites even for eCommerce, membership and others.... Everything is quite fine to me...

hi,
WP vs html site
you can use both to get results
wp is a bit more difficult to get the layout you may want but you have plenty of theme to chose from
i use the 2 for different reason with results but , because i like design html site is a bit more flexible than wp in my opinion

Wordpress is more flexible than a static website. You can create a page in wordpress as a sales page or squeeze page. With many plugins you can get even for free, wordpress website to be more powerful than just blogging.

Why not have both and then you can find out which one actually works best, there may be a middle ground between both of these options, there is an advantage in using wordpress because of its highly dynamic nature and vast arrays of data that can be easily indexed by search engines, its a win win, no matter how you look at it.

but static sites can also be very productive depending on the content and the updates made to the website.

Wordpress can be used as a static website and is easy to configure.

About the best thing of having a website created from scratch is that you can ensure that you have all your HTML tags configured properly. With Wordpress, a common problem is that you can use plugins to do the work for you and sometimes the plugins misplace the HTML which can devastate your SEO without you noticing it.

If I may offer some pros for static .html sites:

1: There is very little administration required. AS you do not have a database driven site, you do not need to keep the database, and WordPress, and addon scripts up to date in fear of being hacked. There are no users, so you do not have to manage user access profiles, passwords, & all.

2: .html web pages are faster. Again this goes back to the lack of database, so your site is not waiting for a reply from the database engine. True, on a well maintained site this will only add milliseconds, but remember that the web host provider manages the DB and not you, and that you are sharing the same servers DB engine with all the thousands of other websites hosted on the same server. Add to this that Google place a lot of weight on the speed of the web site and you can see that this is an issue.

3: WordPress, Joomla, Durpal & all rely on 3rd party add-ins that do not always play nicely together. If you find a .html website builder with all the add-ons you need built in the you get a one stop solution that is fully supported . For this I would like to suggest our XSitePro program that you can find from the link below.

There are other benefits too, if you find the right web page creator, but that should be enough to be going on with.

Do you know if in Hostgator there is any issue with this you mention?

I see no reason to use a 'static HTML' website when you can choose between a website builder and WordPress. For simple sites, a Website Builder is a quick and easy way to build pages. WordPress is also very easy and supports whatever configuration you want from simple to advanced.

All of these sites output HTML so the end results will basically be the same. Most of your choice has to do with your goals as a website owner.

Wordpress makes it a lot easier to update and make changes. It has a nice back end that you wont have with a traditional site. however, if you just need a static page, most hosting services have decent website builders. I've been most impressed with hostgators and 1&1 (although everything else about 1&1 is not so great!)

I sometimes use categories in place of pages, posts tend to do better on the SERP than pages. Any reason is the RSS feeds pulls your post, although you can use a plugin to put your pages into your rss feed. The number 1 reason for using wordpress is the amount of functionality WP has.

The only downside is that updates and security can sometimes drive me crazy.

A good Managed WordPress Hosting service will help then. They will take care the updates, security, also they can let you know if you should update or not your current status, and so on.

Many people include me host their wordpress site in Hosgator, a recommeded plug in for security is "better WP security"

Remember that the two can co-exist side by side. You can install Wordpress on the same domain, and also have static html pages. What I tend to do is use Wordpress for the blog, and static html pages for sales pages or squeeze pages. Wordpress can be used for sales pages and squeeze pages, but I just prefer html for these.

My vote is with WordPress. If you get the right theme you can build any type of site with WordPress. I used to do all HTML sites, I have now switched all my sites over to WordPress as it offers so much more and with the many types of plug-ins you can make your site dance and sing.

wordpress is so much easier to use than just a regular site. You can create a page and set it as the homepage. You can create pages without a sidebar, and you can customize the look, so it doesn't even have to look like you're using blogging software for your website.

I use wordpress for my regular "static" sites and my blogs.

WordPress has grown so that you can now use it as a website - as well as creating blog posts you can now create static website pages too.

I used to be a die hard Joomla developer in the days before WordPress was so flexible - but now particularly for more simple sites WordPress is quickly becoming our go to platform.
