Hostgator payment issue

Logged into the billing part of hostgator to find $139.30 (14 months) of fees have not been paid.... They suspended my first site, but the domain ran out long ago, now I run add on sites (about 8) on the hosting, but they are all still fine.

How long would this have gone on for building up, if I didn't log in today, then went to uni for 4 years??

Then log in and see $800 and they expect me to pay that then?

So technically getting free hosting...... Just confused at the whole process....

I know this sounds like a dumb question, but have you contacted them? There's nothing anyone here can do...

i transferred a domain to hostgator from namecheap and it never showed up at hostgator. their support was non-existent. so i lost one month with them.

in spite of all the people who like them, they are not for me. i am happy with bluehost.

i think their value gets inflated in people's eyes by marketers who are pushing it by profiting from the hostgator affiliate program, but thats a separate subject.

finally, i guess it must be just me, but having my sites run by a reptilian creature? no thanks! :O

    cheers

YEAH - Seems strange? But you know unlimited domain hosting, I have that but then they suspended the original domain I signed up with, which I don't use anyway and because I used paypal to pay the first month. And they cannot automatically take payment from paypal and the email I signed up with I never check, the payments have just been growing and growing.

I have contacted them saying "I do not use this, can I set up another account, as I do like the cpanel for hostgator despite what people say but the billing section is terribly run.

Can I get away with not paying the fee as I don't really want to spend close to £100 when uni is only in a few days time....
