Hey guys,

I am eddy from Singapore. I have been a writer for ebooks (health related) for the past 4 years after quitting my job as a chemical engineer and I have always wondered , how people are making money with the ebook I pass on to them. So I decided to do some research on my own and found out about IM. HOW CAN I NOT KNOW ABOUT IT FROM THE START?!

So i decided that since i can write books, why not sell it myself? right? sounds easy at first. But as i embark on my journey. things started to get rough.

I realise that a lazy way of making money is to make an ebook in a niche where people are willing to buy as a solution to their problem. sell it on clickbank and basically just wait for money to come in? Right?

So I am hoping you warriors can stir me to the right path.

But I do have questions?

1)How do i create video sales page on my own? *I'm willing to learn*

2)How to i create affiliate resources like banners? Do i need a software?. How do i track which affiliate got a sale from traffic, clicking the banner made available?

3) How do I possibly get a one page landing page for list building purposes to rank on google if google hates one page wonders?

I appreciate the help. I have always believe that if you are shy to ask, you'll lose your way.

    1) Not my expertise

    2) There are lots of low-cost banner design companies. For example:

Landing page design, banner ad design and web design.

Banner Design - Cheap Web Banner Flash Banner Designer

As for tracking affiliate sales, I don't know about Singapore, but here in the US the tax implications of that are complicated. You have to get every affiliate to provide a tax ID, need to keep perfect records of every penny you pay out, need to send out forms to the government and the affiliates at the end of the year, etc. If paying contractors is anything like that where you are, let someone else manage the program. Sign up as a merchant with ShareASale, ClixGalore or some other affiliate network that caters to small merchants.

    3) You don't. Landing pages and single-page sites are for ads. You need a real website with real content if you want organic search traffic. People searching for information about whatever health topic you write about aren't looking for sales letters; Google would be wrong to send them to one.

Wrong. I assume you've already figured that out by now and this is a rhetorical question.... but being an ebook vendor involves a huge amount of hard work.

Once you've finished the product creation phase (writing the e-book), you can then move on to designing visual assets (creating cover images and other visuals) and then build your website (including post-sale pages, like the thankyou page and download section, and an affiliate section that contains sufficient affiliate resources and marketing tools). After the website is complete, you can write the sales letter and, if you're making a VSL, record audio & video and embed in your website. Then you'll need an autoresponder email course (anywhere from 5-50 emails, plus landing pages) to build a mailing list. You'll also want to set up tracking & split test software like Google Analytics to optimize conversion rates ASAP.

Once you've finished all of the above tasks and launched your program, you can begin the real work, which is recruiting affiliates and arranging joint venture launches with other vendors. You'll need to work extremely hard at recruiting affiliates and getting long-term JVs or promotions as this is the only way to guarantee a sustainable revenue stream.

For my business partner and I (both working full time, with extensive experience in web design, graphic design, and copywriting) the process of developing a new e-book product and all the support assets took approximately 3 months. If you're on your own, you can double that (6 months). And that's assuming you know what you're doing... if you have to learn along the way, it'll take significantly longer. Once you've actually launched the product and begin making sales, you're looking at a year (or more) of marketing work to build a sustainable traffic flow and a reasonable mailing list you can leverage for backend sales.

My point is not to say "it's impossible to be an ebook vendor," but to earn a living selling digital products is a full-time career that involves just as much work as any other job.

Write a video script, record the audio in sections, create a powerpoint presentation with corresponding slides, do a screencapture, sync audio/video using a program such as Camtasia, encode for web, upload and embed in your website using a video player like EasyVideoPlayer.

Ad banners are just one affiliate resource you'll need. You also need content, such as articles and email swipes and product images. Graphics can be created in Photoshop (or outsourced to a graphic designer) while content needs to be written by you or a copywriter.

Tracking is handled by ClickBank, eJunkie, or a similar digital product retailer that connects affiliates and vendors. You don't have to do any tracking yourself.

You don't. You can either build out a content-driven website with many pages of quality articles to support your product sales, or you can rely on affiliates to send you traffic.

I don't want to discourage you from writing an e-book and becoming a vendor, but you're probably better off starting out as an affiliate (using your expertise & knowledge to write content for marketing) and then, as you gain more knowledge and learn how the world of internet marketing works, consider writing your own e-book and being a vendor.

    Best of luck!
