"I have seen hints that Aweber is moving their business away from the IM community. It has been suggested, and I tend to agree that Aweber is trying to maneuver itself more to corporate clients, and less with IM clients."

I doubt they intend to stop accepting IMMers.

Most likely they're merely seeking to brush up their image to attract more lucrative corporate clients.

Yep, over the last few years they've been making it more and more difficult for the average IM-er to send out their spam. And that's a good thing, as this means better delivery/inbox rates to those who use their services like they're meant to be used.

A good example of this is that they require each new account to pass address verification, so gone are the days when you could put a random address below your e-mails.

I've also heard that they take pretty quick action if the complaint (spam report) rate goes over a certain (low-ish) percentage. Again, that's a good thing.

But no, they won't (and couldn't) stop accepting Internet Marketers per se. This just wouldn't make sense and would be nearly impossible to enforce.

MailChimp already doesn't allow any affiliate marketing, make money online and MLM clients... and they're the larger, more profitable business. 2 million businesses vs. 115,000.

Enforcement is not difficult; just review every mails sent by new accounts, and mails that get more than a certain percentage of subscribers reporting as spam.

I don't think so because I think IM clients are the large number of customers they have.

Don't think it's true, many many IM'ers have very low complaint rates.

They will deal with people who have high complaint rates but are happy to work with most IM'ers

B2B transactions are always going to be bigger so almost every company gears for them. But having so many smaller IM clients adds to their stability. They may enforce more rules, but definitely won't stop accepting IM clients.

I have had nothing but a pleasant experience with Aweber. They have always been great in answering questions in a timely manner. Have definitely made it more difficult for the spammers which is fine with me.

like another warrior said, they are just weeding out spammers, and this is great because it improves the quality of their service which is good for us to.

Would be very hard to enforce - those in contracts with them would only get their accounts shut if they abused (spammed) like any other auto-responder.

If they cut off the IM community they would slash their income considerably. It right to monitor what they are sending but they know if they drop the IM'er, they would defect to GetResponse or similar and that doesn't make business sense.

No one but the big shots at Aweber can really say for certain, but I'm inclined to believe it. GetResponse is much better anyways, so I don't worry about it .

i'm not sure they are cutting out IMers, per se... I think they are trying to get rid of the scammers and spammers.
