Hi Guys,

I am very new to internet and affiliate marketing. Although I am new to this I am business savvy and my last full time job was as a web developer so I am skilled at HTML, CSS and most of the scripting languages. Being a good business person this industry, as I understand, is dependent on 2 major factors, 1. TRAFFIC and 2. CONVERSION.

Where TRAFFIC is concerned I know what is required for onsite SEO but I have no idea how to funnel traffic to my sites without the use of adwords and facebook advertising and these can be very costly and without knowing your conversion rates and earnings per sale can cost more than you make.

I joined warriorforum hoping that you guys can please help me gain the knowledge that I need to send massive amounts of traffic to my site by sharing the secrets of SEO and helping me generate massive amounts of traffic to my site.

Please can anyone help me by giving a step by step guide or links where I can learn how to do link building without using link exchanges. I am just starting out and therefore I do not have much capital but I am willing to spend between $20 and $50 if anyone knows of a good program to get me started. I have checked out the Millionaire Society as well as Google Snipes sales pages and many reviews but I am not sure if these will give me the information that I need to get started in making money online.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Owen

    You have already begun.

If your online presence has a focus based on your web building skills, there are lots of others out there that could use your help. Participation in forums relative to your message will attract traffic.

Your website presentation of solutions to problems others experience will attract traffic if others are aware the answers they seek may be found at your location.

Same logic applies to social networks... Check on Warrior Forum as to how others have benefited from Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn and other venues. Pick the one or two that you are comfortable with, join a group, and contribute.

If you've already taken care of onsite SEO you've probably covered your URL name selection, keywords, site maps, robots.txt, Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, and other factors. Make sure you're indexed by the major search engines, and monitor your progress on analytics..

See what competitors are doing in terms of back linking. Use iBacklink Pro to check them out. There are thousands of places to get links and the least desirable are the ones you pay for. Look for directories that cover the focus of your site. For me, time in forums related to site subject has been of more benefit than back links from the yellow pages.

Do your thing with a lens on Squidoo...You have knowledge others thirst for. Cash in on your experience to date.

Maybe write an eBook on what you know... Make part of it free for visitors to your site upon their subscribing to your periodic newsletter...Sell the rest of it on your site and through Amazon and others.

In the event you're shooting for affiliate income, Warrior Forum has lots of good brains to pick.

You'll find there will be a combination of things that fit your ability and style. Any one of the above thoughts should show some traffic results in 30 days.

Good luck, and let us know how things work out.

    Hi Vern,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am looking into affiliate marketing specifically. I am not trying to sell my web building skills but want to promote either clickbank or amazon products on either blogs, lenses, hubpages and/or on my own site. Can you guide me to those "brains to pick" as I am completely new to this industry and any help will be appreciated.

I understand some of the link building strategies like articles, forums and others but so many forums and nofollow these days and looking at my competitors using traffic travis they have so many backlinks (numbering in the thousands) and I do not have a set strategy to get traffic to the review sites or pages. I want to start by making $1000 a month, this is my short term goal and so many people say that this is easy.

I started about 2 weeks ago and I may have chosen the wrong product to promote but I created a facebook page and gathered roughly 100 followers in about 3 days so it is looking good in that regard. I have posted an add on the page, only 1 because I do not want my followers/fans to think that I will only be spamming them with ads non stop. I have also started an adwords campaign and got about 60 clicks in a week but no sales as yet.

I am redirecting to the clickbank sales page using domain forwarding but still not a single sale. I am doing something wrong? How can I get free traffic to the landing page as my budget on the adwords campaign is almost depleted.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks again,

    Owen

      Owen,
I'm not the guy to guide you affiliate wise... Believe some WF searches in the niches you're interested in will provide better results. My approach to affiliate income has been to focus on a major topic, provide current information for public consumption, become an affiliate for products related to the topic, attract traffic per above, and see what develops. To date my affiliate income has been spotty, undependable, and relatively insignificant.

My main reason for being on line is to assist our commercial clients in development of their local business interests via an online presence. To this extent, we've been moderately successful.

    hi owen,

the main thing is to look at everything objectively and focus on a niche that meets your goal.

you can find these targeted niches by using trigger words like: how to, ways to, or even something like printable, or convert.

then once you find one take a loot at the traffic and estimate what you can earn per visitor. for example on my lottery numbers website i average $0.11 per visitor. so if i want to make $1000 per month on it i need 9000 clicks. now in this market with paid traffic i have been able to get that much in a day for 6c per click.

if i was going free traffic... i would take the term and look at the exact monthly searches and times that by the 11cents to see what i would arrive at.

there are many ways to get free traffic but you need to find what fits your niche.

do this: google your niche and see whats on the front page, if there are articles... you know that could work well, if there are youtube videos, that will be a good plan, if you see images, start making images, ect...

let the market determine the best way to get traffic :-)

Owen, have you considered creating videos and then posting them on Youtube. Youtube ranks right up there with Google when it comes to people searching for things on the Internet. Get a copy of Camtasia (there's a 30 day trial) and create up to 50 videos and post them on Youtube.

Thanks for all the replies. I will try some of these strategies and let you guys know how it goes.

I have thought that Youtube could be an answer. I came across an interesting article today and wanted to run it by you guys to see if this could be successful.

Say I am going for the clickbank product, "Yeast Infections No More", I am not but using it as an example to bring my idea across. Could you build a facebook fan page and a twitter following (blogs, lenses and hubs) not targeting yeast infections because the competition seems stiff but rather target keywords like "stay at home moms" and other non medical related long tail keywords. This could be a market for the product as it is generally a female problem. Then build a site on pregnancy or any other niche that attracts many female followers and promote the "Yeast Infections No More" product to them?

Also, I have been contemplating using our local classifieds to advertise the book that I am trying to move, however, I am South African and due to Credit Card fraud and scams our public is still reluctant to buy online. Our online market is growing so I think this is the right time to get into the industry but how do I convince my audience that these purchases are safe and secure?

Thanks again, I cannot stress how grateful I am for all the information.

You are wrong. You need targeting relevant traffic not just any traffic. You want to be able to have visitors on your site for one thing only. This is why focusing on a keyword that best suits your business is the best thing for you.

The thing with affiliate marketing is....try not to make it seem that they are on the site you own. Try aiming for newer affiliates that nobody has ever heard before and that is new, this way it increases your chances of pulling in a sale when the time comes and you don;t waste time with an old affiliate everyone knows about. Also try aiming for an affiliate that provides something for free or trail period as these work the best.

Now for onsite seo, i would normally say "screw it" as long as you provide relevant and awesome content you shouldn't have a problem with rankings. If you are that concerned add your keywords on the content and keep keyword density at 2 percent.

Also you can do this for better traffic. Guest blog on a popular site related to yours and hire a professional to write the article for you. Make sure it's about 1,000 words or more as web owners love content. The article can be about something relevant to the affiliate you are promoting but making sure the content is not advertisement. You provide awesome content, people visit your site getting you relevant traffic and possibly pulling in a sale.

    Hope this is helpful.

Very helpful thanks Seorightsteps. I understand what you are saying. I have just been trying the last 2 weeks and no sales as yet. I do not want to be one of those guys who don't make it in the internet marketing game. I know there's tons of money to be made as the internet is so vast and there are abundant opportunities.

Many believe that all the markets are saturated but I am certain there are many niches where people have not touched the full potential.

I know of 3 ways to make money online:
      1. Affiliate Marketing
      2. Online Surveys
      3. Google Adsense

Which of these would be better and easier to start with? I made roughly about $90 with adsense in my first month but then traffic decreased. My site ranked #2 in Google locally and then dropped to who knows where. I went through the SERPs and it was not even listed by page 7. I never received a check from Google because it was below $100 minimum. Any ideas how I can incorporate Adsense into my strategy or is it not recommended with affiliate marketing. I would think not because traffic could potentially be sent to a competitor.

What are the other ways one could make money online. My short term goal is to make $1000.00 online consistently. I want to achieve this after 6 to 12 months. I am diligent and also willing to put in as much time and effort as needed. Obviously I don't have much capital to start with but I am willing to put what I can into advertising if it will help in the long run.

      Thanks guys,

This is an awesome community and everyone is so helpful.

    4) Blogging

    5) Email marketing (build a list)
