screen capture / camstudio

I'm trying to put together a video using camstudio, but I have a problem.

I have to set the capture region to 800px wide to fit my content, but I don't want the player to be this large on my web page. When I reduce the size of the player, the image becomes jagged as it compresses.

Is there anyway around this? Is there a diferent player or recorder that will produce better results? I don't mind if the text becomes impossible to read, as long as the overall picture still scales cleanly and looks decent to the eye.

thanks for any suggestions!

actually, I'm refering to reducing the size of the player within the html.. a video recorded at 800x600 doesn't render nicely when I reduce the size of the player to 640x480 or lower.
it seems I need some sort of 'lossless' avi to swf converter.. hopefully somebody already has been down this path and can point me n the correct direction.

    1. Save as avi
    2. Encode to flv using vp6 codec via Flix 8 standard and setting the output to be the desired smaller dimensions.
    3. Embed your flv in your page using a professional video player.

The key is not to use the built in player or encode to flash in camstudio. Its a great screen capture software but its a crappy flash video producing software.

Flix standard is only $39. It provides you with flash video encoding using vp6 the industry leading flash video codec. It will not only give you better image quality but also better compression than what you are experiencing in camstudio. You will also be able to use it for encoding other videos to flv.

Well I will suggest camtasia or demorecorder. Both can work well in your situation.

good software for screen capture:Screen VidShot at geovid.com and Macvide ScreenCap for mac users at macvide.com!
I tried Macvide ScreenCap and was impressed all functions :
Store result screenshots to PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP formats
Save captured video to quickTime MOV, iPod mp4 or Mobile 3GP formats

i really enjoy it! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
