Payout reduced Clickbank

Hi,

I am promoting a product on Clickbank, paying a commission of 16$. When I had a look at my recent stats, they show that for the last couple of days I've earned only 12$ per sale for the very same product, although the total price has not changed
So I suppose the vendor has reduced the percentage of the commission paid out. Has he a right of doing that, without notifying me and has something like this already happened to some of you. If yes, what did you do? Choose another product?

If it's selling even at $12 then stick with it. Some offers don't convert at all, you could be worse off changing products.

    Yes.

Vendors are not even entitled to know their affiliates' identities, let alone contact them (unless they choose to accept only affiliates they've approved, but very few ClickBank vendors do that).

Of course, if the vendor knows that you're an affiliate, knows who you are, has a way of contacting you (perhaps because you've contacted him yourself?) and knows that you're actively promoting his product, then he should have contacted you, but he isn't obliged to.

I've chosen another product once or twice when "things changed", and stuck with the changes once or twice, too. I've also managed a couple of times to persuade vendors to change whatever-it-was back (can be worth trying!).

Price/commission changes aren't normally so bad - I can usually live with that.

But other sales page changes can occasionally rule a product out for me, if as a result of the change I'm no longer willing to send my subscriber-traffic to the page.

Thanks for this very helpful answer.
Could you tell me, how you managed to persuade Vendors to pay you the original commission?

The vendor has absolutely no obligation to let you know. Most vendors have no way of contacting their affiliates anyway. It's up to you to decide whether or not you stick with the product or move to another one.

As someone else mentioned above another product might pay you higher commissions but may not convert as well so it's something you will need to test with your traffic.

And all this could have been solved if you had read the Clickbank terms and conditions, before or even after you joined up...

... moral of the story; if your business is going to rely on another business for anything - always read the terms and conditions.

A possibility is that it's the same product being offered at a discount. Check if the Item Numbers in the Transactions Report are different.

Maybe you should promote another high paying product

I haven't been promoting any Clickbank offers but since I fell into some awesome massive traffic sources I figured to do so. I'd like to know how this turns out for you.

      Thanks for all the answers.
@EvolBaby: Works out pretty well, Conversions are high, but as you know, that mainly depends on the product and how it is promoted
