Hm, the best way is probably to make a Facebook page in your specific niche and then buy Facebook ads to advertise it, that way people will "like" or join your group.

test the ads first though, it can have a very low ROI if not targeted right

Make a Fb page, run a contest or something. Give people a gift for getting more members. Or give them something to like your page. Yeah bribe them. At the same time provide quality with your FB page.

Do you mean "Friends" or "Fans" there is a major difference between the two and the ways you can market to them.

Friends: Max allowed 5,000 (or it was last time i checked) there are all poeple linked to your personal profile. You cannot use affiliate links and adverts on your personal profile. If you do you risk your account being closed.

Page Fans: people who have liked a fan page. There is no limit to the number of fans a page can have. You are also able to directly promote to them on the page and use affiliate links.

You can generate a good number of real page fans using facebook ads at a fairly low cost per like if you optimize correctly......around $0.01 - $0.03 per fan. A good fan page starts to take off on it's own when properly nurtured.

Promote and advertise your page to other social networking sites. Ask them to like or follow your page.

You will need to use the facebook ads to achieve your goals. While setting up your ads in FB you can set the criteria.

Fiverr gigs for promoting fan pages works? Or is G taking an aversion to this? Does it work for G+ as well?

Not worth it if you want real likes. You are much better off spending that $5 on facebook ads for your page. If you set it up properly you should be able to get likes for about $0.01-0.03 each

Are you targeting "friends" or "fans" for your business needs?

Set up a FAN PAGE if you are using FaceBook for business purposes.

I hear that the ads section has become less strict also with its polices because of the latest stock market news.

I don't use ads for my FAN PAGE as I have gone down the pateint route of building my fans slowly and steadily and I am getting around 5-10 fans a day.

You only need a few shares for your message to go crazy around FaceBook.

Just hang around at similar fan pages to whatever niche your in and post engaging content and that will have people clicking back toy your fan page.

Then from there you can add great content that points back to your website, blog, squeeze pages etc.

Hope this helps, all the best my friend!!!

Facebook will give you like if you offer something free to the crowd, maybe free advice, free valuable information, discount, etc. Nurturing a Facebook fan page will cost you a lot of time, except with really good post for each status.

Yes m8. The traffic from facebook ads is good. From sponsored ads in the right hand side of the screen. If you need some help with the campaign let me know. I'm sure i can help you get your cost per like down. I would rather have a few hundred likes from faebook ads than a few thousand from the average fiverr gig. There may be some genuine likes to be found on fiverr but i have yet to find them myself.

Likes from Fiverr gigs are only good for starting you off since people tend to gravitate towards popularity. So if your page has a few hundred likes already, people are more inclined to like it as well.

But ultimately it would be content and how you engage people.

In addition to those mentioned above,
You might also want to customise the look of
your FB FanPage which is related to your niche.
Don't forget to put good posts and arm it with
    attention grabbing images or videos.

    Hope this helps,

    • Get a page

You want to set up a "Like/Reveal" Tab (Google it if you don't what I'm talking about)

AND put an opt in on your reveal tab

Google "codeeagle TimelineOptIn" and let that plugin do all the coding for you.

      Buy FB ads.

Send targeted traffic to your Like/Reveal tab

How can you get targeted friends in an account? How should you know that a person is interested in the same topic and he will be interested to add you as friends? As the other warriors said earleir, it will be better for your to create a facebook page to get better more targeted users.

Yes Larry you're right. Get a page.

When you advertise a page on FB you can select people who see your ad by their interests and/or other pages they like plus age gender demographics etc etc etc

When you start to set up an ad you can target your target audience at that point.
