I guess we will just have to adjust and include a stronger call to action in the video via annotations or arrows. Solution 1 would be to start placing calls to action right in the Title and Account Username.

Exactly, YouTube is always changing, I don't like the ads that popup on my videos. I don't have many, but arg.

I agree...Just guessing but it looks like the tradeoff for fewer clicks will be more subscribers.

Those that depend on clicks for revenue will probably be hurt a bit, while those that make videos that rely on Youtube's monetization will probably be helped. If this is correct, I can see why Youtube is doing it.

Plus, there are rumors Youtube is adding clickable annotations that will let you create links in the videos that can take people off site.

Wow, that would be amazing!! If we could get people to click through to our external links right from the video the potential is HUGE. So much you can do with that!.

I guess video editing will be in order to get conversions off of YouTube.
Still have the other services plus self hosted videos in conjunction with video sitemaps that can get some organic hits.

I think people subscribing to your channel - as long as you have an updated channel with loads of quality content could be even better. They will receive a notification everytime you upload a new vid.

I've actually been getting more traffic from Youtube since the update.

In fact I've noticed this increase in Youtube traffic in my analytics and I've wondered why, but now it makes since. It happened about the same time as I noticed the Youtube layout update.

I already liked the look of the update, but wasn't thinking much about it in terms of traffic. Now I really like it.
