Pigeonholed with Niche Site URL?
Back in 2008 I put up a niche site and it became a success not only for the target niche keyword, but also much broader keywords that I really want to tap into with a bigger, badder website. Trouble is, I have pigeonholed myself with a URL that is too niche specific.
For Example, my site is "MattRyanStats.com" but I'm ranking high for "Atlanta Falcons".
So my question is, what's my best option from here? Should I setup a new site and redirect the old site? I don't want to lose my great standing with the SERPs or my backlinks. Or should I just expand the existing site and hope that the niche URL won't hurt the expansion?
Are there any other options I haven't thought of?
Thanks in advance for your advice. It really means a lot to me!
