Backup your sites people

My el cheapo web host just totally trashed one of my wordpress sites.
No, I didn't have backup and neither did they, so I get to rebuild the
whole site from scratch. Fortunately for me it was a fairly new site
and only had 2 pages, so it will be fairly simple to reconstruct.

But what if it had been a big site?

From now on every site gets backed up.

Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

Yes, stop using cheap services. I don't know how much you were paying, but what can you really expect from paying pennies on the dollar?

    You are SOOO right!

Have used the Back Up and Move Plugin, Version 0.1 by Gaurav Aggarwal for the past year and am real glad I did.

The plugin is free from WordPress.org. A separate restore.php file is required that is available from the download screen (I think). If you have any problem finding the restore download, send me a PM.

Yes, just make weekly back-ups. I like the shared Linux ultimate webhosting package from Go Daddy which includes a malware scanner, SSL certificate and SSH connection. It's the perfect combination to stay safe.
