Correct it with your .htaccess file.... do a rewrite. I'm too lazy to look it up right now

Have you set the blog to display post names?

You may want to pull up an actual post and try bookmarking it.

site.com/blog/my-first-post-here

Then see if you are not indexed quickly.

That extra slash should not make a difference. I have a slash showing up, adding itself on the end of my blogs and the blogs are just fine.

On the backlinks to the site, you do not need to put the slash in there if you are just linking to the main domain name.

Are you using anchor text and linking to specific pages?

I will take a look at the htaccess thing....

Yeah I am going to try and bookmark a specific post to see if I can get it to show up.

Its weird, I bookmarked the main blog url on two different sites and both those bookmarks are on first page of Google, but the actual blog is not indexed at all? weird

Yeah I have been using anchor text....it is a local term so the competition is weak...it just doesnt want to index apparently.

I agree, it shouldn't matter with the "/" or not. If you've done all you've said, maybe there is something wrong with the blog or the domain? Have you validated the pages and such? How long has it been since you've been doing the offpage SEO? It can take time.

Weird, I built a few backlinks using "/blog/" in the target url and it just came up.....don't know if that's what the actual problem/solution was though, seo has so many variables these days it mind boggling. Just when I think I have everything figured out.... Weird for sure.

It does NOT matter whether you have "/blog/" or just "/blog" in your incoming links or SEO efforts. They are both essentially the same as far as Google is concerned.
