Question About Choosing Keywords To Rank For
I need some advise on choosing a keyword to rank the #1 spot on Google.
The thing is, my website is ranking on page #1 for 8 keywords, ranging between 3rd spot - 10th spot. I wish to try and boost my SEO efforts on one of them so that they'll head up to the top. But I'm not sure which one to choose.
I'm using Market Samurai. And after doing some analysis, I realize some keywords have high traffic but low on Commercial Intent (no advertisers bidding for this keyword), and some are the other way around.
I found a sweet spot where a keyword is with medium traffic and fairly good CI. However, fellow competitors on the first page of that keyword (spot 1 - 4) are BIG GUNS (authority websites). Market Samurai shows they have about on average 3 million back links to their domain but only about 30 links on average to that particular page they're ranking.
So my question is:
1. Would it be likely to outrank authority websites which have MILLIONS of backlinks pointed to their domain, but only a few to that particular page?
2. Your take on Quantity (search volume) vs. Quality (buyers traffic), and is it right to look at if advertisers are actually bidding for that keyword to judge the CI for it?
3. Also, anybody take into account the "Phrase-to-Broad" ratio that Market Samurai has?
Thanks in advance guys!
