Are any of the lower cost press release sites worth the $10-30 fee? For example, Mass Media SEO, Webwire, etc.

Or is Prweb the only "real" paid press release site?

Also, what are some free press release sites that actually get indexed and give an SEO benefit?

It depends on who you want to reach.

I like webwire, and also prlog.org. But when I want primarily US respondents for specific reasons, then PRWeb is the way to go. They also allow you to target specific regions.

There's also the one that starts with free and ends with release dot com, which has a $1 version, which can be helpful, especially if you can get them to give you exclusive status. Their $30 version is even better...

The PRLog's paid version is $49, and that gets much better results than the free version (no ads, for starters, plus it gets featured on the home page).

One way to get good info is to go to Alexa and find out where the various audiences are for those sites - that'll give you some good ideas as to which ones to pick.

    Good luck.

    John,

If you have a real story, why don't you submit it to news sites directly? If your story gets picked up, the SEO juice coming your way will be amazing.

Perhaps if you have a powerful product that might "hit the news", it's worth...
It's important where you direct your visitors... give them value, unique value and then the news will propagate.

I tried some PR's, but the haven't paid off for me...

For the price range you are looking for, you can have a look at prattack. Its started by a friend of mine, which has set up the shop recently. Just see if it suits your need.

As you are interested in investment then I think you should invest a little more then you can cover the real and the cheap too. This will enlarge your opportunity to get different type of visitors.

PRWEB gives you relevant traffic, however, if you like to try those free, you may try:24-7pressrelease, pr-usa.net, prlog.org, prsync.com, directionsmag.com, nanotech-now.com

Tried them all but I'd still stick to PRWeb.
