1.1 million Facebook Emails

My question is very straightforward.

What will you do with the email list of 1.1 million facebook emails ?

PS I don't have the list.

I just saw an article on Mashable that a guy bought a list of 1.1 million facebook emails. So I was curious to know what he had done with that list.

Well, before I even 'do' anything on those Facebook emails, I'd ask myself if those are targeted emails. I'd ask myself if all those 1.5 million FB email addresses are interested in a particular niche or whatever.

Not sure I understand your question. Is this a hypothetical? Or do you have a list that big? I doubt you do have a list that size, but if you did, then I would email out a survey to find out what the most popular interest is and cater to that.

If they are from your 'likes' what did they like? That's the key.
If they are not your 'likes' and you 'got' these then bin them. You're not going to be able to spam enough people to cover your potential legal costs.

Facebook emails are not 'public', so any such list would not be legally obtained... If you mean Facebook likes to a page, that is different...

Thats not even close to being true.

Just because Facebook emails are not public does not mean that any such list would not be legally obtained. My personal email is not public and people have obtained it legally.

One way I can think of getting Facebook emails legally would be my contest script. It requires people to auth the script to have there Facebook email in order to enter the contest. I have seen people get 1000+ emails from people who entered the contest this way with only one contest.

Of course it is true. There is NO list of Facebook emails you can buy. You can buy lists gathered by other companies, but no one can buy lists of emails from Facebook.

There are lots of lists of Facebook emails, and some of them for sure are for sale. For example everyone who uses my apps gets a list of Facebook emails, and if they chose to sell the list then that would be 'A list of Facebook emails you can buy'

Also you cant get the Email of a person who has liked you, your fanpage, or a post. With Facebook (using there API) you can only get an Email of an app user or of a personal friend. (Thats another way to get and sell a list of Facebook emails by the way, use a script to make a CSV list of your Friends Emails)

And no where was it stated that this large list was purchased by from Facebook so I dont know where that came from. Ever think it was a compilation of many other lists acquired as I described? Or it could be a list from a couple medium sized apps. Heck that silly 20 questions app probably ended up grabbing several million Emails. What do you think those company's do with them? They sell them.

Don't email them if you bought the email list from someone, because you will get spam complaints and get your business destroyed.

If these emails are in your database, send them some opportunities according to your niche.

yeah I can see few people selling these kinda lists (They download from Black hat forums and sell in local buy sell groups in FB).

The thing is you have no idea the list is "actually" of facebook users or just some random crap until you send emails to them. If you send that much unsolicited emails those are not gonna reach peoples inbox's anyway.

What you can do with the list ?

    1. Split it in parts and sell them somewhere

    2. Split in parts and import in your address book (Outlook, gmail) and then invite to twitter or LinkedIn to follow you. its not YOU sending inviation, its Twitter or LD sending emails, if it bounces nothing is going by our pocket.

    3. Create a fan page and invite them all to lilke your page. (Keep the topic too generic like FUnny or inspirational or life quotes or something of that sort , evergreen). if you have coupld thousand likes, you can then sell ad spots on your fan page and sponsered updates (People do that a lot).

    4. as someone said you can send them a survey asking for their interest so you can spam them with relevant offers. I wonder if someone on earth will open (Actually) that email and for some grace its opened, he will fill up suvery. but yeah worth a try. Miracles does happen
