DLGuard...does anyone else have this problem?

Hi everybody,

I installed DLGuard, but it seems every one of my customers, has a problem with it. They either can't get the download, or somehow the file is saying it's corrupted, and I have to manually send them a link or the zip files.

Does anyone else have this problem? and if yes...how did you fix it? I have had people test it for me by purchasing the book from paypal and actually downloading it and opening it, and it seems to work for them.

I have tried using the contact us and support link at DLGuard, and it's not working.

thanks for your help.
Karen

Best thing to do is to email Sam Stephens and let him know. His customer service is always way over the top so he will get it fixed for you or he will let you know what could be wrong. I love DLguard..wouldn't leave home without.

The support isn't working? Their support has always been great for me. The product creator even offered to go into my accounts and fix the problems for me, in one case.

DLguard site works for me today, It appeared to be a DNS problem, there wasn't an IP associated with the name.

Its all up and working I was just in the forum, but if your ISP caches DNS entries it could be a while before you can see the site.

But to directly answer the question it sounds like a problem with the path to the downloads.

The path should be complete not relative.

Go into the panel and create a sale for yourself, and see if you can get the product

    Hi Karen,

Sorry about the Contact link not working - basically what happened was my server was down for about 8 hour yesturday, which was WAY too long, and so I moved a copy of my site to a new server, just temporarily. I'm moving the site back again until I get a chance to do a full site move, and so it should be working later this morning.

With your problem, you said all of your customers were having this problem, but when you got someone to test it, it worked fine for the testers?

How many people are having troubles? And was it a large file?

If this is a PDF file you're downloading, login to DLGuard, go to the Options menu and then select Configuration.

On the Config page, tick the box labelled "Force IE to Download as Attachment"

Save your config, and give the download another test.

If you're still having troubles, you should be able to open a support ticket in a few hours (when this DNS change propogates).

It'd also be good to find out exactly what happened for your customers when they clicked on the download link - did nothing seem to happen, or did they start to download and it stopped quickly, or did it fully download but they couldn't open the file?

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

    cheers
    Sam
