I have been thinking of starting a project on Hubpages. Just a quick question for some of you more experienced ones.

If you promote Amazon products, how do you know which ones to promote? Also, do you purchase the product prior to writing a review, or do you read about it online and write one?

Reviews are pretty difficult to write. In fact I believe that they may be the hardest type of writing that I have tried so far. Any advice on this would be extremely appreciated.

Why not start it instead on a site which you yourself own and control?

Respectfully, it makes very little sense to set up and run any kind of affiliate marketing business on property you don't own yourself (especially when there isn't even necessarily any cost at all involved in doing so much more safely and securely).

Do you sell Amazon on your sites? I was just wondering if I might be able to look at a couple different reviews that you have written just to see a format.

I checked out the link in the sig...not sure if I am a big fan of an automatic review system...I would rather write them myself in the beginning.

I don´t use hubpages much. Will start adding content next week for a project probably.

I remember long ago that they delete content like crazy if you really go for it.

Squidoo likes amazon a lot - if you use their links and they share with you. Not so bad, as they have 8%.

It is great to test markets for example, you can have a lens on first page in hours.

Now, as Alexa keeps telling everyone, if you plan to really go for it... you probably need a list.

But... you can always start on hubpages or squidoo, then create your site and redirect links.

Just today I have been redirecting lots of pages to a new book. They were sending people to a free version, now it is paid (sort of).

It is awesome for that kind of thing, I am already ranking on first page for my keywords.

I've heard a lot of people say not to use Hubpages anymore. I think maybe it got devalued in the Google panda updates. Squidoo is recommended by many.

Also, do you purchase the product prior to writing a review, or do you read about it online and write one?
Most people don't do that because it would be too expensive.

This year, revenue dropped a lot. Sites got hit by penguin. Still not too bad.
To me, you don't need to focus on content, outsource it. Focus on marking, seo stuff.
    Hubpage is okay to go.
