Storytelling in list building: Some questions!

Hey,

I've been reading Autoresponder Madness and it has to be one of the best guides I've read when it comes to list building.

They're whole methodology behind list building is to tie everything in with a story. Like if you're promoting something or give value, to make sure to tie it all in with a story to engage your readers and to get them excited for the next email.

Anyways,

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to pick stories to use? And how to make a segue from story into lesson?

    Ha.

I saw the title of this thread and immediately came in to tell you about Autoresponder Madness.

... glad you are already going through it. It truly is an exceptional program. I am glad Andre put it back out on limited release for the end of the year.

Anyways: I use ARM consistently in my e-mail campaigns. As for crafting stories, it does take a bit of work.

One tip: From the very beginning, I promised myself I was not going to "make up" the stories just for the sake of completing the soap opera sequence. In doing so, I forced myself to scour the Internet for success stories relating to my topic (the WF came in especially handy during some of these searches).

Moral of that story, I guess, is this: by forcing yourself to do it 'correctly' (read: morally?) from the very beginning, you will find that it becomes exponentially easier to craft your SOS as time progresses.

Im actually doing a SOS/promo email as we speak. I am relating it to Christmas time and how its a season of giving, etc and then told them I am giving them a discount on one of my products as a gift.

Your right, its hard coming up with a real story. I couldnt think of anything good to write, so I just said my mom was making cookies in the oven lol. It sounds better on paper than on here.

Anyways, what do you mean by success stories? And how would you craft that into your messages? Do you pretend its you who was the success story?

    Make the story up...

I use the method a lot, but not for emails. It can be interesting to use it.

    Here is an example,

    Empaths and grounding

(mmm now that I see it again, it needs editing...)

Wow this storytelling stuff really works! Remember the test SOS I made yesterday? Well I've been promoting a product for 3 days so far (Im doing Frank Kerns 4-Day Cash Machine) and the sales have been capping off, one day I didn't even make a sale.

Anyways, I decided to incorporate a story about Christmas, and giving with a new promo I had on the product I've been trying to promote.

Lets just say I've made a record amount of sales in a day on this product :-)

    Thanks Andre Chaperon!
