Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me why these 2 threads were closed? Is there anything wrong with them that caused them to be closed?

Thanks,
Scott.

My guess is that that one might have been considered to have elements of a "follow-me" about it and could have been thought more suitable for a blog than for a forum thread?

I don't know about that one. Possibly people were "bumping" it in order to promote something (maybe their signature-files?). I agree it's not immediately apparent why that should have been closed, but the Moderators will have had a reason, probably to do with something that's been deleted when it was closed, which is why it may not be "apparent".

How welcome a thread will be, asking why two other threads were closed, is another matter altogether!

    Hey Scott,

Threads can be closed for a variety of reasons. However, only a moderator can tell you why they were closed but I don't think it is allowed to ask the reason behind it. I could only venture a guess based on my experience here.

I am pretty sure the CPA thread was closed due to being a Follow My Journey thread. These type to threads are not allowed anymore because lot of time it turns out into a thread for self promotion.

Second one could have been closed because there was nothing new contributed to it and maybe the replies were getting repetitive. It is just a guess because I didn't go through the whole thread.

There might be other reasons involved which I don't know about but these are the common reason in my experience of being a member here.

I'm not a mod, but over the years I've seen enough threads closed to make some educated guesses.

The first one is easy. 'Follow me as I document my journey' threads are not allowed, due to the potential for abuse. Repost it on your Warrior blog and link to it from your sig, and you're golden.

The second one is tougher. It could be because it was getting repetitive, as one person above mentioned. The other is that the whole theme of the thread turned into one more suited to the PPC/PPV section.

Don't feel too bad, though. If the mod that closed them didn't see some kind of value, they would have been deleted rather than simply closed...
