Does Anyone Miss The OLD Warrior Forum?

I'm talking about the old format?

Or forum software it used...

Whatever you call it.

Do you miss it, or prefer this format better?

Just curious

I miss some of the old threads, but not the platform. It just isn't fun trying to search for something on the old forum, and on top of that I had bookmarked more than a few threads, sadly, those don't work quite like they used to.

I like the new one! I'm on a bunch of other boards the WF has the most features by far.

There was something about the old one I kind of miss.

The PMs came in and the sound of it...it was something special.

The reason I rarely posted here before was because the old site was horrible, new site is 1million times better

    Hey Eric,

You are probably missing the familiarity of the old forum. Lol, no one likes charnge, especialy if they are familiar with the original. It's like houses - when you move into a different or new house, it takes a while to get used to it.

If you're like me, you will always miss some things, BUT you will adjust to the new things and eventually call it home.

I think the new format is a little more visually ostentatious than the old format. I think it's all of the special characters that are allowed in post titles, the bigger folder icons, more bold in the post titles, and the big signatures that you can include. I personally prefer the old format, though I do like a lot of the new features. Reading Warrior Blogs is pretty cool.

I'm not sure about old or new forum but I do miss the variable width content area (or was it just narrower width?). I thought everyone knew that narrower columns were easier to read.

There was actually an older Warrior than that one.

I like this new one best of all.

I don't miss the old forum but I do miss the OLD ERIC.

You remember that guy. Fun loving, loved life and was a best friend to everyone. Now we have the business man Eric who makes millions a year showing off his big house. Mr. Cool Pants is what I call him now.

    My 2 cents -

In the old forum it was easier to see who posted the thread. Granted, it's easy to see in this forum version as well, just look under the post title, but the old forum had a separate column for the OP name. In my opinion, a lot of people on here are 'name scanners' rather than 'topic scanners' when looking for interesting posts/WSOs. That's where the old one has it beat in my opinion.

The new one beats the old one in all other categories.

While there are a few things I miss, the new forum is decent too (though some of the anti spam items are a pain at times - the delays are well delaying).

However, walk with me Sherman to the wayback machine and compare today's warrior forum with what it was like in Nov 29th 2001:

    testlinks

or how 'bout Nov 27th, 2002:

    The Warrior Forum

So, is the new forum really all that bad now?

    best,

I miss the buy me a beer function and the free meetings on Friday Nights (Saturday morning my time) But the price is still right for that and I have to say, I like the user profiles and all of the other features on the new blog. All things being equal, this is still one of my favorite places to hang out ... when I have the time to let anything hang out these days. Then again, staying busy is cool too LOL

I really loved the simplicity of it. Very clean and it felt sort of like a private club.

Ironically I posted a thread like this not long after the new format was launched and it was deleted. Such is life.
