I want to start a 'dating info products affiliate site'. Need help

Hello Warriors,

Greetings for the day!

I want to get into affiliate marketing of information products. I want to put up a content site (with good, helpful information of course), and either push the traffic to some well known online dating advice gurus or build a list myself, and then do affiliate promotions.

I'm clueless, however, in terms of what kind of keywords to pick. Now, I'm not expecting someone to give me the winner keywords here (if there are going to be any in this super-competitive niche in the first place). I searched for dating tips and there are some serious authority sites ranking on the 1st page.

Any advice or suggestions on how to approach this would help a great deal.

Choosing keywords is done by using proper research tools google keyword tool, traffic travis, market samurai etc.

What you want is high search volume (exact match keywords) and obviously minimal competition.

If you don't know how to use keyword research tools you can find tutorials on site like you tube and go from there.

It all comes down to persistence and gets easier with practice.

Listbuilding in the niche is definitely the best focus. You can use various ways to build but focus on the list.

►This system pulled in over 25,000 sales in 2013 right under your nose and you probably laughed at it. But while you were laughing we were laughing all the way to the bank. Some to the tune of 6 and 7 figures. This year 10 times...

There are already hundreds of these sites already. If you are going to compete you will have to actually buy and try these dating info products, record videos, and share real experiences... not some fake 5 star rating.

Maybe go into a smaller niche? For example:

    1) Interracial dating

    2) Asian dating

    3) BBW dating

etc... create products or content for these niches (and more), and test your offer.

If you're not doing niche dating, you're wasting your time.

      Find a niche (or two).

Hey, if you're looking for someone to bounce ideas off of/partner with, I'm all ears. Drop me a PM sometime. :-)

Setup your own free dating site use it to build your list and market to them once you have them hooked.
Then you can make your own products as well as selling others

Far as keywords Id agree with the poster above dont try Dating because the big money has it
Niche it down and go after different niches inside the dating niche.

One of the best ways to find good keywords if you don't know where to start is basically taking a similar site (site deals with dating) and putting that in the keyword tool. You'll get a lot of keywords this way.

WOW... That's ideas in quite a few (all good) directions. You guys are awesome

The idea of setting up a free dating site seems very interesting, although long shot... However, to build up a decent-sized (and responsive, more importantly) list, I'll need a lot of advertising dollars to get so many people to sign up with my website in the first place. Today, I don't have that kind of money.

I'm willing to write good content on a regular basis (up to 100 articles on the main website, and about 30% of those as guest blog posts). How does that sound? Of course I'll need to do SEO for all of these (daunting as the task maybe, but an hour or so per day should serve me ok I guess!?! --- this is after writing the content).

Also, how does EMD play out in a niche like dating? I didn't see any EMDs ranking on Page 1 for a few keywords that I tried.

To be honest, providing "dating tips" is going to be the main aim of the website because the kind of info products I want to help market are around it. I can dig deeper and look at keywords that are relatively less competitive though. What do you guys think?

Once again, a BIG BIG Thanks for your thoughts and ideas guys. Please keep 'em coming, you Rockstars.

    Hey there,

Perhaps you can drill deeper and find keywords for smaller niche/longer keywords.
From there, come up with a list of keywords with good searches. It doesn't have to be 10k searches/month. Some 1k-2k would be great.

Google search each of the keywords, and check on the sites ranking for the keywords. Are there thin affiliate sites? Forums? Yahoo answers etc?

Try to look for keywords with 1-2 weak competitor. Such as forum, or thin affiliate sites that you can outrank.

This way, you have a good chance to get ranked after you put in some effort.

ClickBank vendors almost all provide keyword lists. There's no mystery there at all.
