Are video tutorials profitable?

I've not done any tutorials myself. I'm commenting as a consumer. I am much more likely to purchase video tutorials than PDF's or audio only. I'll have them running side by side whatever program or website they are complementing as I work.

I'd suggest Keyword Research, then check the competition to see what SEO they are doing, etc.

The product you have in mind has a neat concept, but you might want to consider some other ideas that are less general.

Instead of general tutorials on a bunch of different softwares you could take a angle and create hype around it.

For example:

Think You Know Your iPhone? We Don't Think So... Discover XX New Features You Have never seen Before!

This will get people excited and won't require nearly as much marketing as a full-on tutorial website.

Another idea that comes to mind is software tutorials with PLR. I for one could use a few videos I don't want to do myself on things such as HTML basics, Wordpress settings and the like.

You really need to pick a specialist area if you want to stand out.

See if you can find out very specific problems on photoshop for example and be the only person doing tutorials in that specific area.

Why not ask the question(s) here to find out what would excite people.....

For Example
"Make your product stand out from the crowd. Learn how to produce stunning eye catching animated gifs using Photoshop".

"In less than an hour you'll be producing stunning 'eye-catching', 'eye magnets' that will sky-rocket your sales and make your competitors wonder what the f$&k just happened"

Video tutorials are profitable provided you find buyers and that means driving traffic to your offers. If it's something that people are looking for they will definitely buy your tutorials.

Video Tutorials are a great way to share information and to sell it.

Few things to consider:

1) You can sell on clickbank, jvzoo, wso, digiresults and all those others

2) You could set up as a course instructor on udemy.com

3) You can sell via your own website etc.

4) People want quick fixes, most people do not want to trawl the web looking for bits of answers here and there. They want the "all in answer" right now, and many are willing to pay for what they could find for free elsewhere.

Its why all the push button resources have/still/will continue to make money. People want instant results and they don't want to wait/work for them in most cases.

Think Diet Pill, Get Rich Today, Improve Your Gold Swing in 3 easy steps... da, da, da.

I have sold many video products, and made many for clients here on the forum and other places. I know of some video products that have done exceptionally well for my clients in the past

Tutorials are profitable, helping other people that needs HELP.

when you create tutorial videos just catch the eye of the viewer that makes them more interesting (EXPLOSIVE TITLES)

I do video tutorials that teach folks how-to get booked on Radio and TV Shows.

It's important to give away AT LEAST ONE video, but preferably more. Let your audience get a taste for what you do before you hit them with a sales page.

Well, my suggestion is that you should create high quality video tutorials and use Clickbank to have affiliates promote your products. You need ot ffer them 75% comissions in the front end, and it is also important to use back-end products and OTOs.

It all depends. for example freddiew has over 3million subscribers with over half a billion video views. he makes about 700bucks a day (on adverts alone, excluding sponsorships etc). which is over 200k a year. he's obviousy a top earner. some make more, most make less.
