Hi, Everyone

OK so I'm at a little bit of a crossroads at the moment and would like a bit of advice on what to do next.

I am a freelance website developer/designer and i would like to find a way of using my skills to build a passive income. Nothing to extravagant maybe a few hundred pounds a month. The problem is I'm out of ideas.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Matt

    Look for a job first?

If you are looking online, bid for job from freelance sites?

Sell your services in this forum?

Are you good at writing sales pages? if not, hire someone here from the forum and get an attractive sales thread going. Have current customers? get them to provide reviews. Hand out some free or discounted review copies to warriors for social proof.
Once people see what you sell has value, and you sell it a good price, the orders will come

If you work as a freelancer, there is hard to build passive income. However, you still can get active income by becoming a freelancer.

You have skill in website development, I suggest you to build few websites and insert squezee page (opt in) into it. Then generate traffic to those. And you can monetize with affiliate programs.

Working as a freelancer is always very hard to do. Especially if you don't know where to start.

If you're very skilled and like the comfort of your own home use websites like freelancer.com or offer yourself to the Warriors for your web design skills.

A big website for income eh? Start building yourself a project on the side like a commerce store selling.... i don't know let's say Shoes. Take things slowly because it will be a while before anything gets off the ground and make big sales.

Meanwhile just look for small or little jobs to keep the bills paid.

    Hey Matt,

You are a freelance website designer.

    All you need are clients.

Awesome place to start is your signature link and the WF services section right here - as long as your work is quality and your prices competitive you will get some clients.

Then you just need to do quality work, which I am sure you will and you can up your prices a little.

Also check out the top freelancer sites like Elance.com etc...

In your neck of the woods you have Gumtree right? Instead of Craigslist like we have here.

Advertize your services there to start at least.

Then as you grow always build 2 lists one of clients and one of prospective clients.

If I were you, I would try and design some very good themes for Amazon, Clickbank, Adsense ( you can continue to add ). I would build a very good sales page for what I can do, start offering commission to people who bring me new people interested in my services, build a list with customers ( which can become future customers/partners), offer some freebies to my list ( like 1 customized logo) and so on.

A huge part of this forum is related to building lists so information is everywhere.

        Good luck!

Why not create a series of wordpress themes that you can sell.

Create them once, build a sales page (or join one of the theme communities that let freelancers sell their themes and get a commission), then sit back and hope for passive income. Of course, you'll have to do some marketing...

I would stay well clear of Elance, Freelancers etc! Be your own boss! Set up a blog and offer services! Now, a good starting point is by doing some brainstorming! What can you offer that people would like? You can use your blog and start with a couple of services such as article writing if that's your forte! Or Wordpress installation/ design! Whatever you may think! You'll be surprised how brainstorming can help!

You then need to market your blog, drive traffic to it! At the same time you can create a list and write blog posts on things related to your niche and include affiliate links to make some money!

There are endless possibilities and I think the hardest bit is choosing which way to go! The brainstorming session should help! List your interest and even though you don't have any experience in a particular one, learn quickly and develop that skill! You'll soon be running a real business!

    Good luck to you!

You could also put an ad in the Warriors for Hire section. Only costs 20 bucks to list your services and then $20 to bump it back to page one after it reaches page 3.

    Hi Matt,

Why don't you set up your own website and offer your services from there? It would be great to build your very own portfolio and a strong online presence, then market yourself on popular social media sites and forums to get some clients.

If you're a developer/designer then why not build some themes or plugins to sell. Some people are making huge money doing this.

Offer your services in the Warrior Forum through an ad in the Classifieds section and put a link to your ad in your signature. You can also look for Warriors who need help in the "Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You" section and respond to their posts.

From the experience, few hundreds a month requires same amount of work for million dollar a month. Just because another person made it easy to few hundreds doesn't mean everyone can do it as easily. There are less 100K sites making few hundreds a month. There are a lot more chances of becoming a Dr comparing to have a successful site.
