Yikes! People Have Been Stealing My Book

I don't understand, how are they stealing if they click on the pay now button and it gives them the product without paying?

Obviously they wanted to purchase it, i would never click on pay now unless i want to buy.

I understand people click then get cold feet.. I sell and have created my own info products so i have experienced this..

This seems like something you need to talk to Clickbank about. Have you tried contacting them?

Ouch. None of those who got your book for free bothered to inform you. There are lots of dishonest people online. Do you know how many unpaid downloads you got?

If I can make some suggestions....

1) have a short spash video intro if not a full video rather than a sales letter.

2) have the text all one font either Arial or Verdana

3) have the main txt either black or charcoal grey (as is almost black)

4) put spacing above and below each headline so they stand out.

5) give a few examples of the mark up in price you're talking about so a purse you can buy direct is 25 that you sell for 250 is a 1000% mark up in price.

6) if everything is "bold" that means "nothing" is bold fyi

7) use italics, m-dashes, highlighting, bold, and look at some of the ways the top clickbank sellers have there sales letters done.

8) Go to elance.com and tell someone to recreate your sales letter into one that has all the attractive look and feel of the top clickbank sellers letters. And they'll take your text and make it look nice and professional. Like it will look sharp like the top sellers on clickbank have theirs. You could probably get that job done for about 40 dollars on elance.

9) Get a newsletter going. This is super important. I can't even stress this enough. Then offer multiple ways for the visitor to opt into the newsletter. So have a pop up on entry, one in the body copy, a free give away of one of your imports, a contest, a sample ebook or report, or other, a tell a friend module..... like on my old site I counted about 15 different lead capture devices people could use to end up on the newsletter. You need a lot of those too. As half your sales or more will come from a well done news letter that hits them up at least 20 times or more over the course of the next few months. Like structure it in tervales of days of: 1,3,5, 7, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 28, 35..... So eventually when they hear from you over and over they'll get comfortable and buy later. 1 percent will buy on a first time visit. After 12 visits the % goes up to about 75% odds of them buying. (or roughly something like that)

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having.

As this is an eBook have you considered publishing it on the Kindle (and Nook, Kobo & iBook) instead of hosting the download yourself? That way you would not have to worry about unauthorized purchases and you would also gain access to a larger market. You could keep the website and just direct people to Amazon (via your Amazon associates link so you could actually earn a few extra pennies on readers who bought via your site).

Amazon's KDP Select, B&N's PubIT, Kobo's Writing Life and Smashwords make this a very simple process, one that you can get a lot of assistance with from many members here (myself included).
