How Do I Drive Traffic To My Men's Dating Advice Site?

Hey Warriors,

So a few days ago I posted a question about choosing a niche in the men's dating advice market. I've finally decided which one I plan on focusing on. Does anyone have experience driving traffic to a men's dating advice website? I'm looking to use paid forms of traffic. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. Would Google Adwords be a viable option?

Thanks

Google Adwords could work. Blog commenting and forum commenting could work as well. make sure that you direct your sites visitors to your squeeze page in order to build a list who you can market to over and over again.

The first thing that you might want to do is to analyze the amount of time and money that you are willing to invest into your marketing campaign. Once you have done that, you will be able to know which traffic generation method is most suitable for you,

What works for one person does not mean that it will work for another people. You might want to test out different methods so that you will know which methods work for you. Content marketing method still works well most niche market and you want to check it out.

I think dating is a really hard niche to crack, out of all the sites I have, my dating site is the hardest to get some action on. Going social is the way to go, too tough to get search traffic.

I've read quite a bit about Harvey Segal's marketing techniques. I haven't used them yet because I'm still getting underway. But, they seem to make a lot of sense. He feels that you can drive traffic to any product or site by using his methods. It would be good to take a look at it.

Facebook ads, PPC ads and forum posting can work.
Facebook ads and PPC ads can give you good ROI in this market I think. Also, look for some good quality forums within this market. There are several dating, relationship forums available which can provide you quality leads, even sales.

Fastest way is to find people with a list for your target market, then contact them to request them to send a solo ad to your site.

I used to use youtube to promote a cpa offer for dating site.. I get a video of a girl dancing in a sexy dress and singing from fiverr.. Then I use the video for a response video for hits songs in youtube.. Then I put my link on the video descriptions

Maybe you can try it and put the link to your site hope this helps

a COMBINATION of SEO utilizing low-competition words in the niche, coupled with solo ads, social media, and what amount of forum/blog commenting you can stand to do, would probably get you traffic and conversions. An advice site that pre-sells a CPA offer will likely convert better than a sales affiliate-based site.

Im still in this niche and info videos are working like gangbusters for us.

Youtube and submitting them to traffictravis, which I swear by.

If your video is good, or funny it can go viral too, which helps. But I would try videos, they work like a champ if done correctly.

I suggest you to go to the men forum, post some helpful comment and add signature in your post. Back link building is a good method to get free traffic. I suggest you to go to man's health forum, manly product review forum, or sport forum. Keep the comment helpful, funny, and interesting. Spend one hour for this occasion, build a reputation step by step, in one month people will ask for more for advice from you.

If you're talking about promoting an affiliate offer or a product offer in the dating niche, I believe ad swaps, building a list (for future email marketing) or paid advertising should work..

I am pretty sure Google Adwords doesn't allow for the affiliate promotion or Clickbank products, so Adwords is ruled out.

I am trying Facebook ads on affiliate dating offers, finding it a real pain to get the ads approved (even though I supposedly fulfill all their criteria)

Bingads work good though! But it seems like the bid needs to be pretty high to get sufficient impressions and therefore clicks

      Hi there,

I thought to summarize some of the points for driving traffic for your site that may be beneficial for you:

      1) Make a mind map of your advertising campaign: How you are planning to go about it?
      a) Online marketing: Google ads, facebook ads, bing ads.
      b) Adult dating site advertisement

Calculate how much it is going to cost you ? and is it possible for you and your site.

      2) Offline marketing around your locality. Trust me, there will be tons of people who will take up your flyers and will be browsing your website even if you start to share 5000+ flyers in your local area.

See you might get better response with your local community.

      3) Try and see what your competitors are doing and do spy watch on them.

Driving traffic to you website via youtube videos may be another good idea and may work.

Upload 10-20 videos about online dating and get some sexy girls to do the video clip and upload it on youtube and see what happens to your website. Really works well as far as I am concern.

Hope this might help you to structure your campaign.

      Kind regards,
      Swrajit

It depends on many factors, here are just a few to consider:
    • What is your marketing funnel setup? Are you selling a low-priced lead product (possible loss leader) and then doing upsells?
    • Is this based around one product? Or do you have a whole product line?
    • Are you also promoting other people's products?
    • Is your website a squeeze page? An authority website? A blog? A content squeeze page? Any combination of these?
    • Have you bought any traffic so you know what your conversions are? You will need these statistics if you want to attract and decent affiliates. Which leads me to....
    • Do you have an affiliate program? If so with whom or do you have a self-hosted solution?
I've been sending traffic to my dating advice websites for nearly a decade and let me tell ya, the questions I've just asked you are extremely important before I could even begin to advise you on how to drive traffic to your website.

One of the fastest way to do this is to buy it and test your conversions. You'll lose money in the beginning, but in the long run you can turn it into a profitable, money-making website.

If you want to learn more buying traffic there are some great guys to learn from, like Jonathan Mizel, Charles Kirkland, Amish Shah, and many others.

JuicyAds.com allows you to buy advertising on other websites in the "adult market".

While most of the sites they represent are porn sites, they also have a decent inventory of dating websites in the mix.

When advertising on dating websites, you can generally get your banner and text ads placed for pretty cheap.

On the other hand, if you can match your offer to porn sites, advertising in that category ranges from cheap to OMG expensive. LOL

Dating / pick up / game forums (signature links)
Dating / pick up / game blog commenting
Dating / pick up / game banner ads
    Youtube videos
    Google / Bing PPC
Adult / Porn sites (cheap traffic usually)
OKCupid / POF and other dating sites
    Facebook (target your demographic)

Once you've got advertising going on all the dating, pick up and game sites you can find all you need to do is then find sites that are not related to any of those things yet have the demographic you are targeting.

X% of all men are single. It doesn't matter if they frequent sites that are about dating or not if they are male and single they will likely be interested in your site to some extent.

Completely disagree with your Google Adwords comment. This is only true if you only have one or two products under $80. If you have a comprehensive back-end strategy with a solid product mix, then Adwords works beautifully.

Especially now with many competitors bailing out after the last PPC slap; most of those guys never came back.

Try reaching out to the admins of the Facbeook pages that display pictures of sexy women all day. The vast majority of people who 'like' these pages are single men. Enquire about them writing a short call to action with your link in the description part when they post new photos. Some of these pages have hundreds of thousands of likes so it could bring you a lot of traffic.

My experience in this niche is the following:

JV swaps can be tricky as there are a lot of people in this niche, many who don't appreciate that collaboration is best for everyone. Refusing solo ad swaps & other joint ventures smacks of defensiveness which will just rub off on their product & service in the long run. I've contact dozens of sites about JVs, few of which I had positive responses from. One even had the cheek to ask $1000 for a tweet on a first contact - given I've no assurance of the quality of their followers as they could've been bought on Fiverr, I refused.

Google Adwords can be difficult. Some good keywords for the niche don't have much of a keyword history with Google for some reason, so they hike the prices and expect you to pay in order to bring the CPC down over time. No thanks.
Other keywords are fine - you need to pick carefully. If you do your research here, you can get tons of traffic at relatively low CPC <$.50 and lower. Be sure to bid less (I bid half) for Display network CPC though, as the quality and CTR is lower than Search Network.

Facebook is a great source of low cost traffic, however, your ads will have to be very "Dating" focussed, and not "Seduction" focussed, as otherwise they'll not approve the ads. They can be inconsistent with this too, and some ads will get through (as mine did), before suddenly they stop a future ad campagin because it isn't compliant with their policy.
Also bear in mind Facebook leads take longer to convert. They are interested in your page and community, but not specifically looking for an answer at that point in time unlike Search Engine visitors.

Forums - I agree that responding to the most heavily read and frequently responded to categories and topics is a way to get organic traffic and if they allow signatures, will give you backlinks too.

If you run a blog, then when you create a short article ensure it's automatically fed to blog update feeds, and also convert to a PDF, submitting to the various Doc Store type sites. You won't get masses of traffic, but for an extra 20 minutes work each time you write a blog post, it'll get you organic traffic too.

Finally, make the most of the traffic you do get. Refine your funnel and squeeze every last lead out of what you get. And then over deliver value. Give your leads & customers huge amounts of value & they will come back for more.

Yes FB can be a nightmare with dating related ads. Mines would be approved sometimes, then I'd pause and make a slight change and when trying to restart they suddenly are not approved.

    1. create good content on your site
    2. link said good content in several large facebook groups
    3. sit back and watch the free traffic roll in
    4. laugh at everyone who complains about google

if this doesnt work then your description or headline sucks and people dont want to click on it.
good content and headlines are far more important than SEO.

If your site have got real high quality dating advice, you should use Yahoo answers to drive traffic at your site. Dating is a very popular topic at Yahoo answers and thousands of questions are added there everyday regarding dating. If those traffic finds your information useful, they will recommend this to other persons for sure.

If you did not created a facebook fanpage till now, please create it right now. Share some thoughtful dating advice there. Advertise your page at facebook to get more fans. It does not cost you huge but the turnover is massive. Keep sharing fantastic posts with your fans there and your website posts too. This will gradually increase your fans and traffic too.

Do you not think it is nearly impossible to compete with the big boys in this niche already? I don't want to name names and give them free links but you have probably seen the youtube channel some guys have picking up girls with 100 million views in the last year. Or do you guys just see this as opportunity because it is such a big market with a huge audience?

I was thinking about setting up a site in this niche myself (but more specialized to one aspect of dating) and it seems like such a daunting task when you are going up against giants who already have massive amounts of followers.

It makes me wish I utilized youtube for traffic to do something similar years ago - I had friends with a website doing dating related videos 6-7 years ago but they did not stick with it! Brutal to look back on now.

that competition only matters if you're focused on search engine traffic.... imo, if you can generate traffic (paid or free) in ways other than google, well then you can get into any niche you want to and the competition really doesnt matter that much.

Im about to launch sites in the gaming and fitness niches...2 ultra saturated niches in seo......but i dont really care THAT much about where they end up in the SERPs because most of my traffic won't come from there.

Thanks. This is the type of comment/affirmation I needed.

I am new to the online marketing game so it is utterly painful to see some of the ideas I've had are now being used successfully by the big boys. Luckily I have a sub niche I think I can work with and eventually be very profitable with (maybe 1 year timeline). Just need to get a handle on the technical stuff like website development for now.
